Young Womens Christian Association

Programs: Housing & supportive services: helped 379 people (141 families) overcome homelessness through affordable housing and housing-related services to empower families to stabilize their lives, build new skills, decrease their utilization of emergency services and keep families united and safe. Core programs include: rapid rehousing (rrh) to reduce the length of emergency shelter stays, the transitional housing program (thp) to create a path out of homelessness for single parents and their children, and permanent supportive housing (psh) to provide affordable housing and supportive services to families who have experienced long-term homelessness.

health & wellness: helped 3,330 people live active lifestyles, prevent and manage chronic medical conditions and reduce stress through a variety of fitness options, membership types and financial assistance to help keep healthy living accessible. Core services include: cardio and strength training equipment, group fitness classes led by certified instructors, specialty fitness classes, personal training and coaching services, swim instruction, water exercise, lap swimming, competitive swimming, open swim and pool rental.

employment & economic development: helped 754 people gain skills to overcome barriers to employment and self-sufficiency through specialized ongoing case coordination, training and support. Core programs include: yw works (yww), a contractor of workforce solutions within ramsey county, which provides culturally-specific services and workshops to participants of the minnesota family investment program (mfip) and career pathways, which provides ongoing support and training in in-demand industries so participants can obtain and sustain employment.
