With a mission centered on balance, our ymca brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections though fitness, sport, support services, fun and shared interests. As a result the youth, adults and families are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well being for their spirit, mind and body.
school age child care and early childhood education: our early childhood education program served up to 78 children each day. Our school age child care program provided after school care for more than 315 children each day during the school year. The ymca distributed over $47,850 in scholarship assistance to more than 60 children over the course of the year. Program activities included homework assistance, field trips, health education, physical education, and progressive swim lessons. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve and that all children need a safe, nurturing environment in which to learn, grow and develop the social skills they will need in life. We provide just that environment.
camps: the ymca provided 1,766 weeks of camp at three camps for 533 children. The ymca awarded $19,741 in scholarship assistance to 51 children. The camp program includes swim lessons, adventure hikes, and nature education. Few programs provide the level of potential positive impact for our youth than the day and resident camps do. Our three camps, located in an ideal outdoor setting, are the perfect places to create memories, develop life skills and friendships that last a life time.
aquatics: provided progressive level swim lessons to over 2,000 individuals; ages 4 to 65 plus. The ymca provided $1,400 in financial assistance to enable children to learn to swim and develop the skills needed to keep them safe around water.
