Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N. program and team are top notch. The program has grown significantly in the past several years due to the dedication of the leadership team and volunteers. They offer a wide variety of STEM programs designed to prepare the next generation with the tools to be successful and contributors to the local community.
It was a great experience for my daughter J’Lynn and I to be a part of the airplane Aviation program. My daughter learned so much that she wants to be a pilot now, and this Christmas her father and I are getting her an airplane simulator. I would like to thank Mrs. Cheryl and her team for an also trip. Also I am thankful for the whole Y.E.S.S. W.E. C.A.N. Stem program. It is a great opportunity for our youth.
This program is offering an amazing supportive environment for my child. They are working to cultivate a love of aviation in a way no other organization can in this area.
As a youth who attends Y.E.E.S.W.E.C.A.N, I can confidently say that this organization has benefited me in a way no other has. The highly skilled volunteers take great pride in what they do, and it reflects in their classes.
YEES gave me a strong interest in STEM and the means to act on that interest. The instructors' hands-on teaching methods and detailed classes are both fun and educational, giving me the opportunity to learn what I like and dislike while I'm still in high school so I know what I want to major in when I'm in college.
I would like to thank all of the volunteers and the founder, Ms. Cheryl, for making this program what it is today.
The Young Elites of the Eastern Shore West to East Coast Aviation Network (YEES WE CAN) is a youth aviation program whose partnerships helps develop youth in STEM courses, licensing of youth in manned and unmanned aircraft beginning at age 16. Its retention rate is an amazing 99%. Those that enroll in the program continue to advance and improve in science and mathematics. This year (2023), YEES WE CAN graduated its first licensed pilot who received his pilot training from the East Coast Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen as well as his flight uniform; his wings pinned on him by a retired Air Force pilot. Through YEES WE CAN's MOU with the University of Maryland School of Engineering and Aviation, the program is able to offer a stellar program to underserved youth in Wicomico, Somerset and Worcester counties.
Cheryl Walker and her team Do a tremendous job in setting expectation and vision for young people to be able to enter into this world of aviation in a way that other programs that I've seen are just aren't it not able to. Young elites prepare young people for opportunities and careers in aviation with their partnership with excellent aviators including Tuskegee airman. A program that is worth its value and gold I love it.
As the founder of Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N., I'm delighted to share my profound pride in the journey and impact of our organization. What started as a dream has transformed into an empowering reality.
Watching our young ELites grow, learn, and discover their potential in aviation and aerospace is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The dedication of our team and volunteers has breathed life into our vision, and it's heartwarming to see it make a tangible difference.
Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N. provides a nurturing environment where youth are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and reach for the skies. The emphasis is not just on academic knowledge but on character building, leadership, and community engagement.
Our mission is to equip youth with the skills and knowledge to navigate a future filled with opportunities in aviation, aerospace, and beyond. We believe that every young mind has the potential to soar to new heights, and we're here to provide the wings.
Our program is more than just educational; it's transformative. We're not just shaping students; we're molding future leaders and innovators. To all those who support us, thank you for believing in our mission. To those considering joining us, take the leap; the sky is not the limit, it's just the beginning.
Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N. is not just a program; it's a movement, and I couldn't be more excited about where this journey is taking us. Together, we're soaring to new heights, and we invite you to be a part of this incredible flight.
It is an excellent organization that provides access to careers in aviation and aeronautics for students in rural counties in Maryland who do not have equal access to education and career opportunities. The curriculum is solidly designed around hard skills in IT, mathematics, aviation, and aeronautics and also in the soft skills of culture, language, and communication. These skills are all required for success in these fields.
Students have the opportunity through after-school study that complements their local school district learning to gain access to greater opportunities. Young Elites partners well with universities and other influential social legacy organizations, such as the Tuskegee Airmen, to provide access to flight time and aircraft. They continue to accomplish much using grit, determination, planning, and hard work. They are now well-positioned for outside investment.
I highly recommend Young Elites of the Eastern Shore as an organization that will deliver a significant social return on investment to individual, institutional, philanthropic, corporate, and government funders. It sets out to do much of the actual work that the DOC's MBDA and philanthropic foundations seek to do - empower those with unequal access to tools and opportunities for greater educational, career, and overall well-being.
I have worked with this organization for a few years and have seen the positive impact it has made on the youth from our region. The organizers have worked tirelessly over the years to turn this organization into the powerhouse that it is. In particular, Pastor Cheryl Walker, is the epitome of grit and "get it done no matter what". Thanks to her and her team, the young people of Somerset County, MD get to participate in a world class program that definitely sets them up for future success!!
My daughter has been attending YEES for years. She has grown and learned so much from what they have to offer.
Young Elites of the Eastern Shore is an amazing program providing STEM and aviation focused learning to area youth. Done in partnership with UMES, Cheryl Walker and her team always provide high level programming to area youth that participate in YES WE CAN. This program enables young adults to learn how to be drone operaters, pilots, and more!
This organization provides experiences, opportunities, and continued support to local youth in our community. Its existence is above and beyond one of the best assets to our area.
Y.E.E.S W.E. C.A.N. is dedicated to giving youth on Maryland's Eastern Shore quality programming in their out of school time.
As a volunteer with Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N., I've had the privilege of witnessing the incredible impact this program has on young individuals' lives. The dedication of the team and the quality of the educational experiences they provide are nothing short of amazing.
Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N. opens up new horizons for these youth, inspiring them to explore careers in aviation and aerospace. The program not only imparts knowledge but also fosters a sense of curiosity, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
The commitment of the staff and volunteers to creating a supportive and inclusive environment is truly commendable. I've had the pleasure of interacting with some remarkable young minds and watching them grow, both academically and personally, thanks to this program.
Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N. doesn't just teach subjects; it instills confidence and encourages dreams to take flight. If you're looking for a place to make a real difference, either as a volunteer or a supporter, look no further. Y.E.E.S. W.E. C.A.N. is where dreams become realities.
