In their quest to not leaving any girl behind, the Yielding Accomplished African Women has quite the number of programs lined up for every young girl who's ready to do something for themselves. I had the opportunity to join their Our Girls Our Future program this year and I must tell you that, with all things being equal, that training session has been the best of my 21 year old life. Not only are they interested in giving you the training, they're also actually interested in grooming you in almost all aspects of your life to become a better version of yourself. To me, YAAW is not only just a community for me, it's also a family and a sisterhood. They have trained me to become FIT (Fearless, Inspired and Transformed) to do anything I set my mind on. If you're looking for any association to join for FinTech skills and you meet YAAW along the way, don't pass by with the intent of finding a better one because it's actually the best in the business.
Thank you YAAW.

The dream of YAA W is to build a community of African women in STEM and also help them achieve their goal(s). Through courses, mentoring, meetings, and opportunity expositions, this organization is committed to helping women stay relevant in the ever-increasing men dominated tech industry. I am a beneficiary of the goodwill of YAA W and aiding me to become the "who" I want to be.

Yielding accomplished african women is much more than just a community, its a family brought together by sisterhood and committment to change the story of a girl child in Africa.
I first joined during the women in machine learning conference and each step of the way has been a learning path for me. Meeting 100 women and being able to interact, learn and share our goals was the best for me.
I am so blessed to be part of this community.

Yielding Accomplished African Women has been a blessing to me. I got to know about YaaW in December 2019 after attending their women in machine learning conference, I came back a F.I.T(Fearless, Inspired, Transformed) woman, no jokes. 2020, I joined as a leader in the Alumnae board and ever since then, I've been achieving great milestones career wise, leadership-wise and in my personal life. ❤

Yielding Accomplished African Women is an applauding organization that seeks women empowerment in the sectors of technology and finance.
I had a greater lead of becoming a software engineer by participating in this year's Our Girls Our Future (OGOF) training program. I got exposed to learning python for beginners, powerful sessions of confidence boosting and a larger range of networking.
YAAW foundation unfolds engaging and amazing programs of which I luckily participate in the UI/UX training program.
I owe it all to YAAW.

It's been great learning and working with YAAW. Through the Our Girls Our Future program and their Sorority group on university (KNUST) campus, I gained knowledge in finance and the opportunity to take an online course in finance and through the empowering content provided by the Alumnae Board, I have been inspired to be bold, aim higher and believe that all things are possible. I am most grateful to Yielding Accomplished African Women (Y.A.A.W.) leaders and the Alumnae Board.

Joining YAAW through the Our Girls Our Future Program was a great blessing during the pandemic. Through the program I gained exposure in finance an area that has always been of great interest to me. I was able to develop skills that will enable me build up on this as the program provided a really great avenue to know exactly what is entailed in it whether one has a financial background or not. To me it felt like someone had taken a chance on me to try out something that is of great interest for a long time. I'm sure with the skills gained during that period I am feeling confident that I can take on the world! Thank you YAAW!

Was introduced to this nonprofit by a friend. Initially I was very reluctant because I had no idea what it was all about until the (OGOF 2020) Program where I gained more knowledge in every aspect of my life and got the chance to connect with other sisters and very reputable personalities.
I must say that I’m very excited and not to talk much, I feel very accomplished and fulfilled though I’ve not reached the maximum.
This is the kind of nonprofit that I’d recommend to my fellow ladies out there.
YaaW is a great family.

Thank you YaaW, I am grateful.

I first heard of YAAW through a program they organised in a different university, my university is not the kind that is very linked to tech and finance but I quickly googled and what I found was amazing. A non profit organisation that just wanted to train ladies in tech and finance, help them develop their personalities and careers through a carefully planned series of fun activities. I just had to be part of it.
It's been months and I love the experience. Within a few months I have witness the Our Girls Our Future tech and finance accelerator program which was held online buse YAAW is unstoppable not even by a pandemic, and it ally free so a lot more ladies join the train.
As a bonus we have had programs that train you to make sure you always March up to that dream job . I have loved every single day of my time with YAAW.

I was introduced to YAA.W by a friend of mine . Initially I was a bit hesitant to apply but I took the time to research about the organization and their benefit to the society and immediately I took keen interest in their activities. I must admit it was quite challenging putting myself out there but when I met these group of empowered young women,I knew I was in the right place.
A team of educated ,well trained empowered women is a family everyone must yearn to join and it’s the family YAAw gave me and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it
I’m grateful for the family I have made and I’m grateful for the experience and knowledge gained
This organization has visions to equip young women and needs to be known.

I wanted to feel accepted because I struggled a bit with low self esteem.Whilst I was struggling with that, I needed someone to look up to, someone who would be my source of encouragement when my own emotions tried to convinced me that I'll never be good enough to make efficient time in this time period (COVID-19 pandemic).

Fortunately, a good friend once told me to take a leap of faith, and that was when I applied for the second time to be a part of YAA.W after I missed my first opportunity last year, and gratefully I made it through. My journey with YAA.W has been an amazing one right from Our Girls Our Future program till now. I was totally transformed by the sense of belonging I had with my fellow sisters from other parts of the country and cities.

I also developed interest in finance and technology thanks to the excellent exposure I had with YAA.W.Thanks to YAA.W, I hold a scholarship in Modeling and Valuation Master Class from A. Stotz Research Academy. I'm also a member of the Women in Valuation Team for A. Stotz Research Academy and currently making progress in my FMVA as well. I really grateful to be a part of this family.

I also had the opportunity to learn and connect with my sisters and mentors who became an inspiration to me, and It is my heartfelt desire that others will also benefit from this beautiful experience too. I believe together we will make a difference and we will leave a mark that will transform our world. Long live YAA.W! for together we are Fearless, Inspired and Teachable!!!

I find myself the luckiest to be a part of this organization. YAAW not only grooms you to be a professional lady but also translates the seemingly difficult courses to simple and exciting journeys. I have gained knowledge in tech related activities, extra curricula skills like communication and networking skills, personal branding among many others which I could not have learned anywhere except in YAAW. I am an environmental science student, now I design websites, do graphics, lead a chapter all thanks to YAAW. I am exceptionally grateful for the woman I have become. And without a doubt recommend YAWW to all ladies.

YAAW is a wonderful community to be a part of, and I find myself very privileged to have such a family. Before taking the Our Girls, Our Future program, i had basic to intermediate knowledge of finance. This program built up my confidence and understanding in Finance “proper”. I learnt and understood topics I didn’t even plan on taking. Gaining a scholarship award to take the FMVA Program (CFI) from YAAW was a huge surprise and something I’d be forever grateful for. YAAW pushes females to see the best sides of them and not to limit themselves. Well done to the founder(s). God bless you for this life-changing initiative.

YaaW is a community where true sisterhood exist, one committed to the growth and all round development of her people; a community where regardless of the cultural differences, everybody is somebody!
Joining YaaW is one of the smart choices I've made(I'm really grateful to be a part), aside the opportunity of meeting true friends (networking), I've also achieved what I couldn't achieve in years; ranging from gaining scholarship to study Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst to having access to mentors etc.
YaaW helps African Women see the best in themselves and maximize their potentials. This community is a blessing to African Women and it's a 'home' for me.

Yielding Accomplished African Women has really helped shape my life. I went for the women in machine learning in 2019 and it was life changing. I finally decided to choose machine learning as my career path. The program was well organized and the organizers were friendly. I also applied for the 'Our Girls, Our Future' program this year where we were trained for seven weeks. It was the first time I will be diligent with online lectures; the program was well organized.

In March 2020, as a National Service Personnel, I was asked to come home due to Covid-19, it was just six months into our service period. Staying at home with the hope of being called back to work which never happened, I wanted to find something to learn that will bridge the gap of learning experience I would have gotten if I had a full year for the National Service. I then decided to look for learning opportunities to upgrade myself. Then I found Yaa. W which did not just give me a learning opportunity, but a community and a wonderful mentor for my career. I have now become a Fearless, Inspired and a Transformed young woman who now has the motivation to transform her community as well.
I will always recommend Yaa. W to anyone at any given time.

I joined this great organization through the OGOF 2020 cohort and it was the best decision I made then. I learnt to stand and be the best as an African lady while undergoing the training organized by YAAW.
I would love to say this "YAAW is like a motion that drives out the best in African women"

When I first saw Yielding Accomplished African women's email in my inbox, I felt sign of relief even though I was unaware of what I signed up for or what await me on the program. But one thing was certain, thus after the program there will be a positive turn of events in my life.
And I was never wrong on that.
Right from the introductory sessions, I met amazing and super talented women who are all doing marvelously well in their various fields of work to share their stories with us.
I don't know how the YAA W. team did it but it was as if they carefully selected these speakers to say exactly what I needed to hear at the time. Their stories gave me inspiration and motivation to continue to confront every obstacle on my path to building a successful career.
I was not only inspired to keep climbing the ladder of success but also i gained skills that I could never have been able to pay for (i.e Coding, communication, editing resume writing among others). Prior to the program, I had no idea what coding meant neither did I know how the beautiful websites I see came about but thanks to YAA W , I had access to various coding platforms and the opportunity to learn how to code during our practical training session.
I am happy to say that today I can at least design a basic website.
I got more than what I signed up for because I met great team of women who are willing to network and lift one another up through any means possible. A sisterhood one can call family because with Yielding Accomplished African Women, I feel I belong.
What more can one ask for rather than join this amazing sisterhood so together we can transform our world. #Girlpower#womenempowerment# May YAA W continue to expand beyond boundaries until the last girl on earth is empowered.

I joined Yielding Accomplished African women earlier this year through the mentorship program organised, being in my first year in the university and having access to a mentorship program which had a range of topics to cover. The mentorship program was detailed covering some basic aspects of what was needed to survive both in and outside the university.
Afterwards I participated in the Our girls Our future program which was to introduce girls into finance or technological track. It was an amazing experience, I gained a family and also technical skills.

I got to know about the Yielding Accomplished African Women organization earlier this year when I applied for the Our girl our future program to learn python.

I was energized by this program because I was not only introduced to tech but also empowered with career and professional training.

I was not just given a tool, but I was showed the best way that this tool can be utilized for maximum impact around me.

I like the vision of this organization because it aims to educate girls in Africa in technology and finance, no girl child will be left behind.

When that congratulatory message from YAAW regarding my acceptance into the OGOF program hit my inbox, I knew I was going on a big journey. The program kicked off with introductory sessions and a Women Empowerment Week. And I kept asking myself one question: Why are all these people with such busy lives so committed to running the program and making it a success? During the Women Empowerment Week, I heard the stories of very accomplished women from all back grounds who braved many odds to make it in their personal and professional lives. Every single person introduced had a long list of accomplishments, worked at big corporations or for a passionate cause. I was shocked these women existed and were suddenly in my network. And I will never forget how inspired I was. That I too, can make it. The next few weeks were a period of learning some technical skills and knowledge in Finance. We took courses in Excel, Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Capital Markets. So I went from zero knowledge in excel to knowing quite a number of shortcuts and functions. I understand concepts such as Time Value of Money, DCF and can read financial statements with ease. We had the best facilitators. They dedicated their time to making sure we understood the material thoroughly. It pleased me that I was suddenly learning all these things I thought I needed to be a Finance major to understand. We also learned interview skills, how to craft our LinkedIn profiles and how to write professionally. It was a holistic learning experience. I realized I could learn anything, if only I pushed myself to. I got to know a lot of my fellow sisters in the program. I got to know their stories, what their successes were, what struggles they had, what they aspired to be. And it was all very energizing. We were people who never met each other, miles apart and yet were celebrating each other’s wins, rallying up to support each other and promising dinners and visits. I became part of a sisterhood, a community, a family. The OGOF program ended for me with a nomination for the Yaa Asantewaa Leadership Award, Best Finance Track student award, a scholarship to do an FMVA certification course and officially becoming an Alumna! It was a fulfilling experience – one that reminded me of the joy that comes with achievement and recognition. I was assigned a mentor from Google - someone I could not possibly have gotten the chance to interact with. He listened, answered my questions, made very helpful suggestions and encouraged me. He and his wife recently gave me a 6-month premium LinkedIn account as a gift! My experience in YAAW was a major factor in landing me a leadership role as Vice President of Finance in a campus chapter of a global network of students and professionals. Being part of YAAW, I was privileged to be invited to join the Inner Circle, an initiative of Diana Wilson’s that I believe is important for professional growth and achievement. Being part of YAAW and all its networks makes me more confident of my professional development. I will be a woman who matters and leaves her mark.

I became a member of this lovely sisterhood in August 2020 during their Our Girls Our Future program. I was lucky to be part of the Tech Track which was mainly for web development.

Before this program, I had no interest in IT related things and I always have the mindset that I can't do anything related to IT but this program changed me.

Thanks to Yeilding Accomplished African Women I have only not identified a potential, but know to myself that there is nothing I can't do if only I give it a try. Thank you Yaa.W for equipping me with this mindset and the skills in web development during the program.

I also want to thank everyone who helped me in one way or the other during this program especially the facilitators. They were lovely and always ready to attend to our challenges.

I can now call myself a web developer all thanks to Yaa.W.

Hi I am Thelma and I joined YaaW through the STEM sorority where I got to know about the Girls Our Future Programme. The programme helped me grow academically and mentally. It gave me a go getter mindsets and wings to soar higher. I always say it was a wake up call and never in a million years would I have thought that I would have the courage to message top finance officials and form a connection with people that worked at Microsoft and Amazon. YaaW helped me get rid of my imposter syndrome and low self esteem
YaaW was the first place where my interest in tech sparked. I now aspire to be a data science and machine learning enthusiast.
Because of YaaW I am getting my FMVA and I am also learning data science and plan on embarking on some projects later in the future with friends.
It's so amazing the change YaaW is bringing into this world for young girls! God bless them and I love to witness more change in people’s lives.

I joined Yielding Accomplished African Women (Yaa.W) in December 2019 after I participated in their Women in Machine Learning Conference. This was the first ever and the only conference of its kind in Africa.

Since then, I have been given a tremendous boost in my tech career through the various trainings offered through the organization.

I have also benefited a lot from the strong sisterhood of young tech and finance industry players and enthusiasts from all over the continent. The organization chalks an A in innovation, with creative initiatives to keep on making an impact on the continent despite the difficult terrain and the tumultuous times we've been in.

As an example, their annual career accelerator, which is traditionally an in-person training was still held in 2020 despite the pandemic. It was made entirely virtual and entirely free for an even wider cohort of young ladies from 10+ countries in Africa. When other organizations were postponing their programs or outrightly canceling them, Yaa.W has brought up initiative after initiative to build up the young women of Africa.
