Programs: Job skills training for disadvantaged indiviuals through participation in the operation of a charitable thrift store. Indivduals come from various government sponsored or charitable programs. We cross train in the store to learn all aspects of retail operation. We arrange schedules to enable participants to take classes to improve skill sets. The goal is to help prepare the individuals for employment outside the program and become self-supporting.
offer employment to individuals who have otherwise been unemployable due to disability and/or lack of skills and experience. Through such employment the individuals gain experince in retail store and warehouse operation, appropriate workplace attire and attitude, salesmanship and customer service to help achieve eventual outside employment on their own.
operate a donation processing center to accept, sort and prepare donated clothing, furniture and other household items to be sold at substantial discounts through the thrift store to individuals and families in need. Work with other charitable organizations to assist disadvantaged families with emergency supplies. Provide donated books to a school reading program.
