Mission: Firstlook is leading ellis county to embrace life by promoting best sexual health practices and providing family support in the name of jesus christ.
Programs: Medical clinic, peer counseling, education and resources wrc pregnancy center, dba firstlook, provided medical services, peer-counseling, education and resources to 790 clients. All services, including medical services, are free of charge, and the value of those services in 2017 was 176,000. Services included pregnancy tests nurse consultation ultrasound for pregnancy confirmation sti testing and treatment for women sexual risk avoidance education pregnancy options counseling pregnancy, parenting, and life skills classes peer-to-peer father support abortion healing spiritual support community referrals and material resources for a parents baby. Mothers and fathers may participate in all education programs until a child reaches 36 months. Continued on schedule o.
thrift stores firstlook operated two thrift stores selling clothing for the entire family and household goods. All items sold in the stores are donated to the organization. Net proceeds from the stores were used to support the overhead costs of the facilities, staffing, supplies, etc. , for the medical clinic, education and resource activities. Also, some clothing, household, baby items in the stores were awarded to clients who receive reward points through the prepare pregnancy and parenting education program. When there was a need in the community to provide clothing and household goods, firstlook thrift stores partnered with other agencies to meet those needs.
