WQED Multimedia brings great public broadcast content to the Pittsburgh market. Last year, they started airing five nightly programs that are produced locally, with content that helps viewers to understand and think critically about the world around them. WQED also brings national content to Pittsburgh - programs like "Black in Latin America" provide a really interesting springboard for debate about tough issues in today's society. WQED's content is important to me because it represents a relationship between the viewer and the station - not a sales transaction between the station and its advertisers.
