This is the best school any African American child can attend. My grandchildren graduated from this school and loved it. To this day they often visit Baba Jahid and his family as they take on the next generation of scholars. Harambe!! Aduni
THE SPIRITUAL COMMUNITY AT WO'SE MAKES IT A VERY SPECIAL PLACE TO RESTORE / ENHANCE / SHARE ONE'S SPIRITUAL AWARENESS.
WO'SE HAS MANY PERSONS WHO ARE DEEP THINKERS, WITH SPECIAL SKILLS IN TRADITIONAL MUSIC, ACADEMICS, HEALTHCARE AND OTHER AREAS.
THE INTEGRITY AND SHARING SPIRIT OF WO'SE MEMBERS MAKES ONE FEEL WHAT A REAL HOME IS LIKE.
I GIVE PRAISES TO WO'SE, ITS SCHOOL FOR INFANTS THROUGH MIDDLE SCHOOL AND ITS MANY OUTREACH PROJECTS FOR THE LOCAL AND GLOBAL COMMUNITY.

This is a place where the odds are quietly and efficiently defied every single day. Happy, well educated kids in the Heart of East Oakland. Unsung heros and a community treasure! And they have been doing this for nearly 3 decades!
I have been a donor to WOSE community for 3 year. I enjoy donating to the WOSE community because of the great services and programs they offer. In addition to providing spiritual instruction they created a fantastic k-8 school that focuses on preparing African American children for success in the 21st century. The school is called Ile Omode (ee-lay oh-mo-day) which means "House of the Children" in the Yoruba language of West Africa. One of the things I like most about Ile Omode is that they have very high academic standards. In fact, several of their 8th grade students are so good that they take Algebra at a local community college. This is such a positive school that I think we all need to support. Especially considering the achievement gap in public schools. Visit www.ileomode.org to donate.
