I have been honored to work with the World of Children Award for a few years now and have seen first hand the benefit the award gives it's winners. Child advocacy needs support and World of Children Awards provides that support to help children all around the work.
I have been involved with World of Children for many years and have attended numerous events. This organization is amazing at finding and honoring non- profits around the world who are truly making an impact on vulnerable children's lives. I love how diversified their honorees are, bringing awareness to numerous causes. This is a wonderful organization where donations go directly to the children in need.
Best nonprofit organization I've ever known. The ceremony was beautiful. Their honorees are doing such amazing things and they are so incredibly humble. I spoke with most of the honorees and they have such wonderful souls. I have so much respect for what they are doing.
The entire experience was humbling.
I've been an active volunteer for World of Children Award for many years and attend multiple events each year. The organization believes the best way to change children’s lives is by identifying and elevating effective child advocates and their work. As an educator who works with children every day, I appreciate the clear vision and direct impact World of Children Award has on our youth to improve the lives of vulnerable children around the world. I have met many of the Honorees in person and know first-hand how their work becomes elevated and transformed after receiving support from World of Children Award. I look forward to continuing to support this amazing organization for many years to come!
I have attended several events hosted by World of Children over the last several years and I am always blown away by the amazing work being done by the organization and the programs and individuals the organization recognizes and supports. Keep up the incredible work!
I have been working with this organization since inception and have been amazed at the focus and dedication of the team that has allowed it to grow into a worldwide beacon for children while maintaining its guiding principles including spending 100% of fundraising on projects. The number of children helped around the world and the quality, humility and sustainability of the Honorees over the years proves that the model works and that World of Children is an organization like no other!
World of Children is been an important lighthouse for us. Since we start our constant conversations with them, we have witness its great committment towards children all around the world. In our particular case, we have had the oportunity to showcase out important social work in Cartagena, Colombia. Our President was honored with the Humanitarian Award no long ago, this recognigtion has given a important status among donors and volunteers. Our support is a neverending job, and we acknowledge the support of world of children in this journey.
World of Children is THE organization that makes a difference in the lives of children all over the world. I will be forever grateful to them for giving us (Casa de la Amistad) the opportunity to give low income, cancer stricken children the chance to fight for their lives.
Their award is a reassurance that together we can bring hope to the lives of many children and their families.
Thank you World of Children for walking at our side throughout this journey!
I have been a volunteer with World of Children for nearly five years and it's a wonderful organization that I'm proud to be a part of. The Word of Children Award recognizes, funds, and elevates Honoree programs doing incredible work for children around the world, providing more than $8 million in cash grants and program support to more than 100 Honorees who are the driving force behind some of the most impactful programs serving children.
World of Children is a great organization. They find and fund the most worthy causes, from girl's education in Uganda to health projects in Nepal. I feel great supporting them knowing that 100% of my donation goes to projects on the ground helping children throughout the world. It doesn't get any better than that!
I am a volunteer at World of Children Award after having had a long career in business management in both the private and public sectors. I have worked with many non-profit organizations and fund raising personnel over the years, and believe World of Children Award and its staff to be one of the most dedicated and focused I have encountered. I strongly believe in the two-fold mission of World of Children Award i.e. To bring awareness to and provide funding for organizations assisting children who live in dire and at times, life-threatening conditions. There are many communities of children throughout the world who suffer consequences from war, poverty, crime and a lack of health care services, and World of Children Award seeks to support others is remedying these situations. I believe there is no finer purpose among us at this time.
I have spent most of my 30-year career working with disadvantaged children, helping them improve their self-esteem and self-confidence through the use of art as therapy. Watching their transformation has been heartwarming and extremely gratifying. The World of Children Award is a nonprofit that works tirelessly to improve the lives of vulnerable children around the globe, providing funding, mentoring and support to those who are actively engaged in making a positive impact in children's lives. There is no other organization that goes to such great lengths to ensure the well-being of vulnerable children. My son recently was named a Youth Honoree and the support the World of Children Award has given him, both financially and with mentoring, has helped him expand his programs and reach, ultimately improving the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children. It is an honor for him to be affiliated with the World of Children.
The World of Children provides support and brings awareness to charities that may otherwise be undiscovered. I can't think of a better or more impactful way to help our children.
World of Children Award is an amazing nonprofit that is making a true impact in the lives of vulnerable children. They are truly the Gold Standard in child advocacy. Every penny donated goes directly to the children. Their passion for their work is inspiring.
World of Children Award is an amazing non-profit with a great staff! I've been volunteering with them since July and I always look forward to seeing them every week. It's incredibly encouraging to see so much effort being put into recognizing and rewarding people who are making incredible changes in the world.
In 2014, I was fortunate to receive a World of Children Youth Award. This was an extraordinary honor because the process that their Nominating and Review Committee conducts is multi- faceted and in-depth. Donors to World of Children can be assured that their gifts are spent to support non-profits which meet the rigorous World of Children standards of fiscally responsibility, a long-term commitment to helping children and a proven track record in changing the lives of children for the better. As an award winner, I became part of the World of Children "family," and have been supported far beyond the generous financial contribution. I also witnessed how donors, too, are proud to be affiliated with such a well-run , efficient and far-reaching organization.
I've been involved with creating the World of Children Award Honorree videos for going on three years now and it has been one of the most rewarding work experiences of my life. Getting the opportunity to speak with the honorees in depth and hear their amazing stories is inspiring. Knowing that there are organizations like Workd of Children Award that actively improve the lives of children all over the planet is equally inspiring. Aside from that, I just love the wonderful staff that bring all of it to life. Great Event, great cause.
World of Children Award simply stated is excellence! The mission is clear from the top of the organization (the founders) through the employees and volunteers. The professionalism, transparency, and difference this organization is making is a great example to non-profits all over the world. These people LOVE children and truly care about the life of each. Some companies add a little extra comfort to the lives of children...World of Children changes the lives of children. Their model of encouraging youth to help fellow youth is an impeccable program. This organization is truly amazing!
We've worked with World of Children on some web development projects and have always found them to be highly focused on the mission, even in the seemingly mundane details of the typical project life cycle. These folks seem to be driven by purpose and not by just getting a paycheck, and that is always a great quality in an organization.
World of Children Award is a wonderful organization that impacts the lives of children in so many positive ways. It has been such a pleasure to work with the Wold of Children Award staff, as they are passionate, professional, and considerate. Looking forward to continuing our work with this outstanding organization.
The World of Children Award is a fabulous way to celebrate children everywhere and the amazing people who help them. I'm so happy to learn that there are organizations like this that are really "doing the right thing." Keep up the good work!
World of Children award is an impressive organization! They're effectively creating change for children and it's wonderful to hear stories about the programs. It's great to be able to see the difference I make as a donor.
World of Children is a wonderful organization! We have been so happy to donate throughout the year and know that our money has helped so many children in need all over the world.
This organization enables me to help children I could never reach personally. The most important people are also the most vulnerable, and World of Children brings their need and their hope alive for me. Helping with my donation becomes a personal privilege through World of Children.
World of Children Award sets the gold standard for the nonprofit sector. I was asked to do some freelance work and my world changed! The World of Children Award staff really cares about their mission, to find those that are doing extraordinary things with their talents to assist children in dire need around the world. World of Children Award also makes sure that the Awards are going to do what the Honorees say they are going to do and check in in time to time.
World of Children Award also gives the Honorees (those helping the children) a stepping stone to receive other funding as needed. The general public hears and sees on T.V. what is happening in the world, but until you hear the stories first hand it isn't real. World of Children Award makes it real and want to help.
it's deeply moving to learn how my donation supports these truly extraordinary efforts to save and cherish children.
I have known about and been supportive of the World of Children for many years now. In my experience as a former philanthropy advisor I have found their work to be professional, efficient and highly impactful. Their due diligence process is peerless and unrivaled; thusly the level of trust and confidence they inspire in their donors is worthy of a Harvard or Stanford case study. There is no other organization quite like this one. The awards are meaningful and catalytic. Harry and Kay are an inspiration.
During my year long self-imposed sabbatical, I was hoping to find a volunteer opportunity that would allow me to be involved with causes advocating for children. And I was able to do just that by volunteering at the World of Children Award office. The team was so friendly, warm and welcoming and eager to have a helping hand - it was like being a part of a family from the get go. Their passion, drive and commitment to make a difference in millions of children across the globe is truly inspirational. There is so much work being done by this small yet mighty team all year long to help spread awareness, raise funds, and engage donors with numerous non-profits that focus on children's education, health, and social well-being. I hope to continue volunteering with this amazing team for many more years to come.
Thank you for the kind words, Archana! We loved having you here. Thank you for being such a great asset to our small but mighty team! :)
My husband and I love donating to charities every year. We were so happy when we found World of Children Award. We love how 100% of the proceeds goes to programs helping children. It is amazing the opportunities and things it Provides for children. Thank you for all you do.
The World of Children holds a special place in our hearts and we are so grateful to be part of their wonderful family. My daughter was a recipient of the 2009 Youth Award and was able to expand her organization to support more educational opportunities for girls in rural Rwanda. No doubt about it, World of Children opened the door to many incredible opportunities. Recently we traveled to Rwanda with Kay and Harry and we are in awe of their professionalism, commitment and outstanding support of their honourees. An amazing non-profit indeed.
TEAM Changemakers for Children = JOY. I only had a little to give but they took that and multiplied it into strength, courage, hope, smiles and victory changing the lives of hundreds of children forever. Not only that, they also changed my life. Words cant express the impact they have. Your unimaginable accomplishments live on :)
I was asked to serve on the events committee for this year's WOC 2014 Awards Ceremony. I have worked with a lot of non-profits, and I was blown away by the passion, professionalism, and fiscal responsibility shown by the founders (Harry and Kay Leibowitz), the staff and the board of directors. The organization's mission, to improve the lives of vulnerable children by funding and elevating the most effective changemakers for children worldwide, is aspirational. The due diligence that is taken to vet the potential beneficiary organizations assures that the dollars raised are being effectively deployed to make tangible differences for children around the world. It is an honor and a privilege to support the work of World of Children.
Chaeli, founder of The Chaeli Campaign was awarded the World of Children Youth Award in 2013. This award not only acknowledged Chaeli as an ability activist but also came with a sizable 2-year grant which is supporting the work we do in the Early Childhood Development field in Cape Town, South Africa. We are not only grateful for the generous way in which the World of Children Award is supporting our work on the ground but are continuously blown away with the way in which they continue to strengthen the relationship started through Chaeli receiving this award. We feel that we are part of the global World of Children Award family and are thrilled to be growing this conversation with people who care about making a difference in the lives of differently-abled children in Cape Town.
CEO: The Chaeli Campaign
Just Yell Fire (www.justyellfire.org) has benefited from numerous grants received by winning awards but the one that stands out is The World of Children.
In the nonprofit world money makes things happen, but there are far more important types of "donations" that make nonprofits truly successful. WOC provides both forms of support to the nonprofits they serve through resources, connections, advice, experts, a network for partnerships, smiles, and a real support system. Just Yell Fire has been able to expand its impact to help save girls' lives due to the generosity of the WOC community/family.
Harry Leibowitz & Kay Issacson-Leibowitz are by far the most accomplished individuals who have leveraged their wisdom, experience and connections to help the global community of kids. With grace, style, and wisdom they and their team help nonprofits give kids the things they need to live a safer and better life and in return these kids learn valuable lessons by example. These lessons encourage kids to step up, they are our legacy and will help shape our world for a brighter future.
Receiving the World of Children Award has benefitted my organization, The Sparkle Effect, in countless ways. Along with financial support, World of Children has helped bring national awareness to our cause, connected us with like-minded people who share our passion for social-change, and helped us reach thousands of children with disabilities in the United States. We've only worked with World of Children for 7 months or so, but they already feel like nonprofit family.
I have had the opportunity to see first-hand how the World of Children Award transforms the lives of youth around the world. In 2007, the team honored our non-profit organization Global Youth H.E.L.P. (Health, Education, Leadership Project) Inc. with the Founder's Youth Award and they have been invaluable supporters over the past six years. The team’s hard-work, dedication and passion is truly inspirational. In addition to creating a network of passionate change agents, Harry and Kay Leibowitz personally serve as mentors to each honoree. Every year, I am humbled to meet the new honorees and am extremely grateful to the World of Children Award for their generosity and dedication to serving children around the world.
World of Children is fantastic. They bring light to other organizations that help heal our world. A truly awesome nonprofit organization!
I found out about World of Children because I liked Stephanie March, but the more I looked into the organization, the more I liked it. They are there to put a spotlight on other heroes who serve the need of children. They focus on organizations that serve the need of children. As Whitney Houston sang, "I believe the children are our future." Helping the children of today will bring a better tomorrow.
World of Children is an absolutely wonderful organization that is directly changing the lives of thousands of young people all over the world. Through it's support and huge networks, WOC has helped elevate FUNDaFIELD in incredible ways. We are working with WOC award winners in Haiti, using equipment donated by supporters for our tournaments world-wide, and have children all over the US helping out thanks to the amazing team at World of Children!
I can speak for myself, and all the amazing groups that have been impacted by World of Children, when I say that this truly is the gold standard organization helping children worldwide!
World of Children finds fresh, innovative ways to reach out and help. Each year I am amazed by the range of effective aid and the committed founders and supporters who recognize needs and opportunities that had never occurred to me. Even the easiest participation - donating - broadens and deepens my experience of reaching out.
I have been part of World of Children since it's inception and have been both proud and honored to see it grow year after year without ever losing its purpose and integrity as a charitable organization. I am humbled every year by the unbelievable nominees we review, whether they end up winning or not. The detailed comprehensive review that nominees are subjected to before being honored ensures that as an organization, children are not just being helped in the short term, but for a lifetime.
World of Children is a great organization that allows me to support other children that are in need. It is a way for my two children to see beyond themselves and understand the needs that other children have. I love the diversity of this organization there are so many areas that they are reaching out to.
World of Children.
It is that organisation that takes private initiatives very seriously, because they acknowledge that helping children in any circumstances is important, regardless on what scale. Thanks to World Of Children, people of all walks of life are encouraged to use their talents to improve the lives of children. And how! The latest visit by founders Mr and Ms Leibowitz and celebrity ambassador Stephanie March to the projects of Award Honorees Dr. Ashok Banskota (2012) and Douglas Maclagan.(2009) in Nepal clearly proved how well-deserved the awards were for these selfless, ingenious heros, as can be seen on www.worldofchildren.org .
With the great initiative to award charity projects that are focused on children, World of Children keeps reminding us that helping the vulnerable is the obvious thing to do.
All nominees should be regarded as inspirational examples of humaneness and selflessness that are brought to light, thanks to World of Children!
We all know that children are vunerable in all dire circumstances. They are the first to suffer in disasters and defenseless when being taken advantage of. World Of Children encourages people from all walks of life to enhance the quality of life for children, no matter where they live. They support a wide spectrum of projects, which are all beneficial to children. Not only do they award individuals that really try to make a difference in childrens’lives, but also, they visit the projects of the award winners. World of Children inspires anyone to reach out to children in need. That’s what makes World of Children such a valuable organisation.
Traveling through Kathmandu several years ago we had the opportunity for a quick visit to an orphanage we had learned about from the World of Children nominees earlier that year. Mostly out of curiosity to see for ourselves the type of non-profits World of Children honored, we were awestruck by the quality of this organization. No sooner had we arrived than a young boy grabbed our hands and excitedly showed us throughout the facilities. We observed a place populated by smiling faces of healthy, eager children in a spotlessly clean environment. This gave us an awareness of how fully vetted and worthy are the honorees from World of Children.
Having this experience we now turn to the World of Children’s honorees when we make our annual charitable contributions, knowing these non-profits are well vetted and our contributions will be fully utilized for the most good. Two of our favorite choices have been: Responsibility, which is building schools and clinics in the slums of Tijuana; and Mercy and Sharing, that is building and operating quality orphanages in Haiti.
At a point in life when we have all we need or deserve, it has been most rewarding to have our five children donate to World of Children for our birthdays and Christmas presents. Besides the satisfaction that the money is being given to worthwhile causes, it eases their decision of what to give Mom and Dad. In addition, it sets an example that we hope they and their families will continue throughout their lives.
Thank you World of Children for your vision and dedication by nurturing those who are having the most positive influence on children’s lives. You have inspired and increased our appreciation for the wonderful work being done around the world.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Anna and Jay! We are so fortunate to have supporters like you, and look forward to continuing to serve vulnerable children worldwide together.
I have been part of the World of Children experience since it's inception. During that time, I have worked on and Produced hundreds of Non-Profit events in my daily Job, and have found very few where: The Board Members cover all overhead costs, almost 100 percent of donations go to the Honorees and the children they serve, there is a 5-step vetting process including an On-site Private investigation of the Honorees and their Charities to confirm that the money is going to be used in accordance with the terms WOC sets forth, and where the Honorees are so truly Altruistic.
Volunteering my time and efforts for the WOC will continue to be the most important actions I will ever take in this lifetime.
I have been involved with the World of Children Awards since 2007, and was appointed to the Ambassador Advisory Board in 2011. This organization truly is a great nonprofit for many reasons, but a couple that resonate in my mind are the fact that 100% of funds raised go to the children being helped, and the worldwide reach allows us to identify WOCA nominees and recipients from places that may otherwise be overlooked. It is wonderful to talk with these amazing people about the experiences that have motivated them to dedicate their lives to helping children. i am proud to be a part of the organization - it is a very inspiring experience.
WOCA is one of the best organizations that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have been involved with this organization since its inception and it is amazing to see how many childrens lives it has touched. Where most organizations focus is on one specific disease or issue affecting children, World of Children Award puts its focus on the people/organizations that help children for any and all issues/diseases that children suffer from all around the world. WOCA view children as the worlds most valuable resource and it is evident in the way the charity is structured. It is rare in todays world to see an organization that awards 100% of all donations to the organizations that they recognize. It is also a great and heartwarming experience to get to meet all the honorees face to face each year at the awards ceremony, shake their hands, hug them, and find out first hand why they do what they do.
I volunteered at the World of Children Awards this year, and I found the experience to be exceptionally moving. The thing I like best about this organization is there focus on connecting people who are deeply committed to the same end goal: to make the world a better place for children. These connections allow each and every one of these changemakers to do even more good for kids, and that just wouldn’t be possible without the World of Children Award.
World of Children is a phenomenal organization that is extremely devoted to bettering the lives of others. We received a grant from them last year that enabled us to sponsor the education of thousands of kids. We are so grateful for that. Also, the staff of World of Children made us feel welcomed and loved while in New York for the award event. They all had such kind and energetic personalities. One year after the awards... they still talk to us and spread the word about Empower Orphans. They have helped us get other sponsorships and media coverage as well because of all the contacts they have. In every aspect, World of Children IS a great non-profit for the passion, generosity, and spirit that it has.
By looking at only a few of the activities the World of Children does, it is obvious that this organization is made up of passionate workers who care not only about the children in their lives, but the children in need all around the globe. From Ukraine to Nepal to the U.S., these people are making a difference everywhere, and helping children we don't necessarily hear about in the daily news. I am continually impressed by the reach and fervor of this organization.
The organization has so many contacts and resources to help children everywhere around the world. From prominent surgeons to young beginners, the caliber of supporters makes all the difference for World of Children!
As a 2010 recipient of the World of Children Youth Founder Award, I can testify to how World of Children's strategy of honoring, elevating, and educating award recipients really benefits child advocates. In selecting WOC Award winners, the organization using an in-depth review and investigation process. Out of hundreds of nominees annually, nominees are whittled down to a handful of finalists who are then investigated by a private investigation organization the ensures the nominee's work is as it is has been portrayed. This ensures that the winners of the WOC Award are really the best in their field. Winning the award brings a great amount of publicity for award winners which helps spread the word about their mission. Even long after a winner is awarded, WOC works to ELEVATE award recipients by continuing to cover and promote their work, and connect recipients with others in the WOC network who are mission-aligned. WOC also educates award recipients and the community at large about issues facing children. As a youth winner, the organization has connected me with adult humanitarian leaders worldwide working to protect and support the growth of children. My organization, Kids for Peace, has greatly benefited from these connections and has formed partnerships with organizations previously awarded the WOC honor to work together to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children in the world. WOC is a fantastic organization really changing the lives of changemakers who dedicate their lives to making the world a better place for every child.
I have been volunteering with World of Children for the past three years and continue to be amazed at the work that they do. Every year, they honor people from around the world that better the lives of children. World of Children understands the important work these change-makers are involved in and raises money to provide them with a monetary award so they can continue to help children. This organization ensures that the lives of children all over the world are constantly improving and that hopefully in the near future, where you live will not dictate if you live.
Thank you for your kind words, Ayelet! We have so appreciated the hard work you have done for us over the past three years. Thank YOU for helping us make a difference!
Each week during the summer before my junior year of college I drove an hour to the World of Children offices in Pleasanton. Despite the total commute of 2.5hrs I was always excited to spend my day with the passionate and affable women working behind the scenes. Lynn Naylor, the Executive Director of World of Children, is one of the most enthusiastic, positive and warm hearted people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. In addition to Lynn, I spent each week alongside Jenn Merkel and Annette Andre. Working with this team of women was a constant inspiration. It was an amazing experience to see just how much work is necessary to raise and allocate funds to support other organizations working in various ways to improve the lives of children. Through my research at World of Children I learned a lot about the many non-profits they hold to high esteem as their honorees. It is because of the dedicated work of people like the women I worked with this summer that the World of Children honorees on the ground domestically and abroad are able to continue providing health, education, and safety to so many.
I heard about World of Children when their Celebrity Ambassador, Stephanie March, gave up her birthday in order to raise funds for them. Since then, I have been an active donor. This past October, I had the honor of attending the 15th Annual WoC Awards ceremony where I got a firsthand look at all the amazing work this organization does. World of Children seeks to help those who are down in the trenches helping children on a daily basis, and *that* is what sets them apart from every other nonprofit organization out there. I am honored to be able to help fund their work in any way I can.
The World of Children delivers a unique opportunity to encourage and develop the leaders who do the day to day work of aiding children in need. I think that provides a unique synergy where one plus one equals three. Each year these leaders affirm the positive story that just one person can make a real difference. And the recognition of that difference sustains the good for years. Where else can you see and feel this?
Called by the press the "Nobel Prize for children" World of Children is 12 years old. 100% of overhead is covered by the Board of Governors thus assuring that contributions from others go directly to programs. All World of Children Honorees are vetted by a private investigative firm to assure their honesty and quality.
