After taking Senior Girl Scouts to SANGAM, the Girl Guide/Girl Scout World Center in India in 1987, I was asked to become a member of the Friends of SANGAM USA committee to raise funds for the Center. After a few years a new building for the Center in London was built and I attended opening. The WFFGGS Board asked if I would become the Founding Chair of the new committee: Friend of PAX LODGE USA and I agreed. Later I was asked to chair another new committee: Friends of WAGGGS USA and again I agreed. Later I served as Board Secretary for a full and half term. Annually there is a GATHERING of all committee members. A TRUE JOY RAISING FUND FOR THE WORLD ASSOCIATION OF GIRL GUIDES AND GIRL SCOUTS! OVER 30 YEARS!!

I have been involved since 1988 helping raise funds to give girls worldwide experiences in helping make the world a better place. The funding goes toward programs, training, travel expenses, housing and more - the chance to meet girls from various parts of the world and have hands on experiences together. The experiences are shared by Girl Guides and Girl Scouts at World Centers in Switzerland, England, Mexico, India, and various places in Africa as well as other places around the world sponsored by country National Guide and Girl Scout organizations. It is amazing how friendships are formed not just for a week or so but for a lifetime! I am still in contact with people of all ages whom I have met over the past 50 years!
