Through this list, I was able to find help from some animal groups and generous enough to help our minis shelter in the Philippines. Honestly. I realize that most animal organizations outside our country are even more generous and helpful. I hope that more will be able to help us here. As we really struggled down the grown for the past year up until this day. It means alot to us when somehow people recognizes our effort and compassion for our rescues. As Chief Scientific Adviser for an International Farm Animal welfare and Environment organisation (https://www.ciwf.org.uk/) I cannot speak more highly of World Animal Net, based upon personal experience of working with them on animal welfare matters in a number of fora, including at the UN .
They more than live up to their stated mission and positively influence the welfare of animals though their work and by advising and influencing the organisations they work with, the resources they provide and intelligence and information they share.
Their staff are utterly dedicated and achieve a huge amount in a fiscally frugal manner, amplifying influence relative to income.

World Animal Net is the largest network of animal protection societies with over 3,000 affiliates in more than 100 countries and consultative status at the UN. WAN is an inspiring and super effective organisation and its focus is to provide resources to animal protection groups around the world. World animal net is a great influencer and WAN has consultative status at the UN. They also coordinate an International Policy Forum for AW whose main objective is to ensure that all opportunities to improve AW policies globally are explored and utilised.

My own organization has worked closely with World Animal Net for many years. I have collaborated especially closely with World Animal Net via the U.N. NGO Major Group's Animal Issues Thematic Cluster, which WAN co-founded as a vehicle to engage animal protection organizations in influencing international policy. Thanks to WAN, many animal protection NGOs have been empowered with a voice in the United Nations, and government officials and policy makers the world over have been made aware of animals' importance to sustainable development. This is in addition to WAN's other long-running programs, including its pioneering work in the field of animal law, and database of greatly helpful information on tens of thousands of organizations worldwide. With very limited budget and personnel, World Animal Net continues to achieve phenomenal good for animals, standing out as one of the most impactful organizations I know of in the field of animal protection.

This is a great organization that does work that is very important but rarely attracts the attention it deserves helping large numbers of animals by protecting them through campaigning and coordinating coalitions of experts in animal welfare, animal protection, environmental protection and conservation.

WAN has a unique lens of looking at the big picture view of animals in the world and what can be done to assist them locally. The team at WAN are very professional and truly passionate about their cause.

I have been privileged to have been on the board of World Animal Net (WAN) since its inception, and have seen it grow in terms of programs, talent and credibility. WAN helps to provide research, expertise and a coordination platform to support animal protection advocacy in international and regional policy. Working on a small budget, WAN punches far above its weight - thanks to brilliant and dedicated staff, experienced and committed fellow board members, and the support of the animal protection community. We now hold the secretariat of the International Coalition for Animal Welfare (ICFAW) and are an Organisational Partner for the Animal Interest Thematic Cluster of the UN Major Group, as well as having our own International Policy Forum.

Their ground breaking Model Animal Welfare Act fills a huge void in the pursuit of countries and societies waking up to the need to pay much needed attention to the protection of animals in policy, legislation and implementation.
Thank you WAN, on behalf of all of those who do not have the voice to put their case themselves in this human centric driven society!

Our organization benefited a lot from World Animal Net's experience and expertise in the past year. As newcomers in several UN forums, we were pleased to exchange regularly with WAN and were able to strengthen our common impact by working together on several projects, from side events to more technical documents. WAN helped us navigating the UN by sharing access, knowledge and introducing us to many stakeholders from civil society to UN agencies staff.
We still use some of WAN's excellent documents on capacity building and advocacy at the UN and look forward to working together again in the next months.

I had the great honour and pleasure to co-author with Janice Cox for the World Animal Net (WAN) team the Model Animal Welfare Act (MAWA) which is a template and guidance document for those interested in enacting new legislation or improving existing animal protection legislation. This was drafted using an extensive comparative law exercise, and took over three years to complete. It was very gratifying to work with WAN on this exciting and challenging project as they always act with complete commitment, dedication and meticulous attention to detail. The MAWA is now considered the “gold standard” for animal welfare law, and I am more than pleased to have played a role in this project.

At the same time, I also follow and support WAN’s international policy work, and find this strategic and inspired. It never ceases to impress me how with unmitigated integrity and devotion they pursue their mission and are able to make such an impact at the highest levels – such as the United Nations and World Bank. They are also extremely collaborative in their work, freely sharing their time, skills and expertise with other animal protection organisations. World Animal Net (WAN) is an experienced and insightful leader in the animal welfare movement. Finding a path that leads to impactful change is a major challenge in our work, but WAN is able to influence even the most entrenched international institutions that are notoriously difficult to move. Personally, I have learned so much working along side Janice Cox over the past couple of years through The International Coalition for Animal Welfare. She was instrumental in bringing together a diversity of NGO animal protection groups to prepare and coordinate for key events held by the OIE (World Organization for Animal Health). She was the brains behind our presentation theme, our pre-conference meetings, and all of our background reports. Largely due to her preparations and guidance, we were able to steer the discussions, challenge prevailing attitudes, and vastly improve the resolutions and key documents at one of the most important OIE events held to date. I am extremely grateful to have the chance to collaborate with Janice and the other amazing (largely volunteer!) staff at WAN.

Janice arranged some of the presentations with large influential orgs like WSPA, hosted my accommodation and even drove me to venues in London.
In the end I gave 31 presentations in 31 days before we flew back to SA together.
I could not have had a successful tour without her commitment and support.

WAN are one of the very few animal protection non-profits to understand how the bigger picture - current social, economic and political structures - systematically undermines the immediate prospects for improving animal protection to any significant degree.

The reality is WAN's approach has the practical promise to be a catalyst for a paradigm advance in human-animal relations, whereas most NGOs are tinkering within the existing pro-cruelty framework or seeking radical change without having a realistic idea of how to get there.

I became in contact with the WAN Directory through the IFAW which I grew up with do to my Parents working with them actively saving Animals all over the World. I am very impressed with all the information available on one site. It covers so much and gives a lot of information to those who are interested in all aspects of helping to change the lives of Animals and their environment. I spent hours on it the first time I went on. I have recommended it to many I know.

The World Animal Net provides an amazing resource for anyone looking for organizations that work to protect and help animals in their area. They have a huge directory encompassing more than just the U.S. and have volunteers constantly looking to add more organizations to their list.

I am really proud to be a part of this venture.

World Animal Net is such a great resource for animal welfare groups. WAN globally facilitates the animal protection movement, especially with the online directory. The WAN Blog provides informative content on animal protection as well. I am truly happy to be a WAN Volunteer!

WAN has done so much with very few resources. I've seen it develop over the years, and it was the first comprehensive online directory of animal groups across the world, as far as I'm aware - a really great resource for organisations seeking help to connect with those who want to support them. It also created excellent free resources to help with humane education, law and other subjects to help groups to make their work more effective. Apart from this, being part of this huge community allows individuals and groups to feel like they aren't alone in their efforts to help animals - and this can be a source of great support, especially to those working in really difficult conditions.

WAN's directory is especially useful. I never knew how many animal protection organizations there were in my area, and searching for them is now one click away.

World Animal Net is facilitating the Animal Welfare Strategy in West Africa. This is a result of the visit by Janice Cox to Ghana in December 2013. After the visit Janice Cox faciliated to obtain funding from the Doughlas Houghton Memorial Fund for me on Course in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics, and Law at St Catharine's College, Cambridge,UK

The on-line Directory of 17,000 animal protection organizations is like no other. If I need to find an animal protection group in Sri Lanka, I just open the Directory. The web site provides the basic information for activists, educators and animal protection professionals alike. WAN provides access for those who care about animals to high-level representations like the United Nations and other fora around the world. The new web site is great to navigate.

I have known WAN for many years and it has been involved in many ways in all aspects of animal protection by training and providing assistance through advice, education resources and small grants to organisations throughout the world. It connects us all and encourages grass roots volunteers by showing us that we are not alone but actually well connected and supported! The recent changes in the website and branding improvements also add the suitable image to a very professional but not in any way distant establishment, keep up the good work for years to come!

Having known and seen the work of World Animal Net (WAN) since its inception in 1997, I can honestly say that I could recommend support to anybody I know. WAN definitely 'punches above its weight' through strategic and well-researched programs. What's more, most of these are designed to support and assist our primary constituency - animal protection organizations - meaning there is an automatic 'multiplier effect' in our work. WAN is ethical and professional in its approach - always doing our utmost for the cause. I have been privileged to witness WAN's work growing and expanding over the years, working with amazing fellow trustees and staff.

Researching nonprofits by geographical region, area of focus, or other factors is generally a long, and tedious process. It is easy for small, local shelters and organizations to slip through the cracks. World Animal Net gives even the smallest organizations the opportunity to get themselves noticed. Facilitating the cooperation of nonprofits across a region or across the world can largely influence the success of any project.
