Mission: The Worksite Wellness Council of Illinois (WWCI) was formed in 1989 by a group of employers and individuals to address the escalating cost of health care by helping employees and their families adopt healthier lifestyles. The Council recognized that between 50-70% of deaths annually in America are due to preventable causes. It also recognized that Americans spend over one-third of their life at work. Therefore, the Wellness Council's purpose is to improve the health of Illinois citizens specifically through interventions at the worksite.
