The conservation efforts are really impressive and with that, Woodlands Conservancy includes the public with volunteer work that varies from plantings to clearing invasive species.
I have volunteered with these guys on numerous occasions. That, and being the lover of hiking that I am, they deserve so much appreciation for preserving the old-growth forests near New Orleans. I can't recommend them enough
I hike with my family at Woodlands and it’s one of our favorite parks. The trail is shaded and well-maintained and we see so much wildlife! Last time we went, we saw three armadillos.
Woodlands has done some amazing conservation work and I always enjoy their events and volunteer activities, such as Bird Banding and guided hikes with specialists. Their park is open to the public and I love running there after work during every season.
