I love the heart of this organization. It cares passionately about the issues surrounding sex, sexuality, sexual expression and personal autonomy. Woodhull strives to be inclusive, accepting, welcoming and proactive.
Woodhull supports the Right to Family, as put forth in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as advocating for the right for everyone to have bodily autonomy.
The members are individually remarkable people and the annual Sexual Freedom Summit is a four-day meeting with workshops all day and themed parties each night. The attendees are a wide range of people, political affiliations, orientations, gender expressions and they all get along famously.
A great organization!
I have been associated with Woodhull for approximately eight years first on the Advisory Board, then as Director of Operations, and now as a Board Member. I am also proud to say that I support the work of Woodhull as a monthly donor. I can tell you first hand how Woodhull is changing the conversation in the Sexual Freedom Rights area to include Human Rights. Woodhull's Family Matters Project is leading the way for recognition of our human right to family as we continue our work at the intersection of human rights and sexual Rights.
Come and join us.
After years of unofficial background advising to Woodhull, I was asked to join the Board two years ago and get to see how things work on the inside. It has been an honor and a joy to discover the degree of commitment on the part of all our volunteers, from Board members down to interns, and a special point of pride that everyone is open, honest, communicative, and interested in only one mission: building a freer future for the generations of tomorrow, and winning solid international victories for the cause of international sexual freedom and equality. Our stellar rating on GuideStar doesn't so much suprise me as affirm what I already knew: Woodhull sets a gold standard for non-profit management.
