Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: To provide free assistance to low-income single women regarding federal and state income tax preparation, compliance and resolution in Los Angeles County.
Results: Currently, we have six WTRC graduates. One has a new career, and she has relocated out-of-state, and is about to be a first-time homeowner. Another has married and her children are in college. One of our other "graduates" has landed a successful career.
Target demographics: Low-Income Single Women.
Direct beneficiaries per year: several low-income single women that live in Los Angeles County
Geographic areas served: Los Angeles County
Programs: Pro-bono tax resolution and negotiate payment plans, etc. with the IRS on our client's behalf.
