Mission: The women's resource center of racine provides crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and prevention services for a diverse population of victims or individuals at risk of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault by promoting positive changes for individuals served and the broader community in racine county.
Programs: The women's resource center of racine served 463 women and children in its domestic violence emergency shelter this year for a total of approximately 7,462 nights of care. Basic needs, including food, clothing, medications, and toiletries, were supplied to all. In addition, 2,521 other women, men, and children were provided safety and healing services while remaining in the community. The hand to hand safe exchange and supervised visitation program served 250 family members. Over 1,500 teens received teen dating violence prevention education in the school system. Eleven family members resided in a permanent housing project within six housing units. Basic criteria for women's resource center services is to be in a domestic violence or sexually-assaultive situation with a need for safety services that may include shelter.
