I joined the WRC community in June of 2015 as a summer intern. From my very first day, WRC provided a strong sense of community and passion for helping women and children. I loved the mission of WRC so much that I continued my internship experience into the fall semester! They are a great resource for women in all stages of life, especially those in transition/crisis legally, personally, and financially. The women from the center go out of their way to help those in need!
I was hired by the Womens Resource Center as a facilitator for their Girls Leadership Program. I found the experience to be so rewarding both professionally and personally. I worked with 7th graders over the course of 12 weeks, teaching vital leadership skills such as communication, conflict management and problem solving. Programs like this, offered by the Womens Resource Center are so valuable to the young women in our community! By supporting the youth, the Womens Resource Center is helping to empower strong female leaders for the future.
I have volunteered as a speaker at the WRC. It is a well oiled machine for the community ! The staff does a fabulous job at providing resources for all women no matter what stage of life .
Women's Resource Center hired me to provide career coaching services at a local homeless shelter for pregnant women and new moms. When I spoke with the Program Director, Angela, I was so pleased to learn of all the programs and support that WRC has available for women of all ages. As a Career Strategy Advisor, I can guarantee that when you’re provided with support, forward direction, and effective strategies, the job search process is much less stressful. Keep up the good work, WRC! Thank you for providing such valuable services!
I really appreciate the services Women's Resource Center offers. From recruitment advice to legal advice, it is an organization of down to earth women helping others through good and bad times. I wouldn't know what to do without them!
I am a clinical counseling graduate student in the area and have currently been a volunteer for a little over three years. As a volunteer, Women's Resource Center is a great place to lend your hand to someone that is reaching out for help. The programs range from Individual career sessions and seminars to Legal Nights, low cost counseling, Girls Leadership Program's, infromation & refferal services and much more.
There are so many people that are not listened to, to be able to hear what someone is saying and give hope and resources is a wonderful feeling. I have found my experience so far to be educational and inspirational.
I look up to the ladies who run WRC as role models who are strong, intelligent, empathetic, respectful and passionate women.
WRC has so much great infromation for all kinds of obstacles life brings us. I myself have benefitted from the Individual Career Session, which gave me a whole new look on how to make myself more marketable for the job position in desire.
There are so many low cost services and infromation out there for us to use!!
- PROUD TO BE PART OF AN ORGANIZATION LIKE THIS :)
I am in the 8th grade and enjoyed the GLP last year as a 7th grader. I have always felt self-confident but getting together with other "quiet girls" was enjoyable and motivating to find my "voice." I really enjoyed the field trip and Girls' Leadership Conference Expo! Thanks Women's Resource Center.
I discovered WRC completely by accident as I was riding around Wayne. I had lived there almost two years and never noticed. Anyway, I had been looking for a new full time job quite some time, so I decided to get my resume reviewed. I was surprised that the woman who helped me came from an extensive corporate background. She was very encouraging--before I went in there I thought something was wrong with me that I couldn't land a new full-time gig. She gave me a couple of pointers and said over all I was on the right path. A couple of months later I landed a new gig.
I was glad to have the opportunity to attend the 8th Annual Women’s Resource Center Leadership Luncheon in April. The speakers and the honorees were very inspiring, and it’s always great to have the opportunity to network with other women leaders. Most importantly, the event supports an incredibly important cause. Kudos to the Women’s Resource Center for organizing such an impactful event, and for the work their volunteers do every day.
I have been a volunteer since May, 2014. I am touched, moved and inspired by the dedication WRC provides to every caller. The staff and volunteers are caring, warm and resourceful. By far, this is my best job in my long career!
Women's Resource Center is a lifesaver! My husband recently left me after 31 years of marriage - I was in shock and had nowhere to turn. A friend recommended WRC. Within a few days I joined a women's divorce support group offered by the WRC and led by an excellent therapist. We are now in our 3rd 6-week session, which proves how helpful it has been. During these sessions, I developed great friendships with women who are going through the same pain and suffering, as I am that divorce can cause. We continue to support each other through these rough times. I also took advantage of their Legal Consultation program, which is one-on-one 30-minute consultation with a Family Law Attorney to discuss issues involving divorce. This provided me with the legal information I needed to go forward. The divorce process is a long, hard journey but the WRC has been the 'back-bone' of my support!
I recently discovered the WRC and participated in the session offered for "women in transition". The facilitators, Sue and Sheila were smart, thoughtful and extremely helpful. They created meetings that encouraged camaraderie and support among the participants.
It was really great!
I highly recommend WRC!
I just discovered Women's Resource Center in July 2014 during my job hunt. It's a very high-quality place for women who need a variety of resources, from help in a domestic abuse situation to educational counseling to support in health care matters. I went to WRC for help in my job search. An empathetic Masters-Level social worker spent a generous amount of time with me on my initial interview. She cut right to the chase and hooked me up with a seasoned volunteer businesswoman who gave me both direction and a morale booster. I also attended a two-hour seminar by a Ph.D. on the Villanova University faculty about specific women's issues in job hunting.
Women's Resource Center is a resource that all women in the area should know about. It's outstanding!
I have been working with the WRC since 2009 - I came to them when I was in career transition and wanted to give back to my community. Unexpectedly - I always get more from the relationship than I give! I have been able to take on greater leadership roles in support of their mission and always feel appreciated and part of something larger. Glad the WRC in my community.
I have been out of the workplace for 12 years and needed help getting myself ready to interview. I am so appreciative to the women at WRC for helping me get my resume together, giving me potential job opportunity leads and their overall helpfulness. It was a scary time for me and they helped alleviate some of my anxiety. Thank you!
I have been fortunate enough to be a board member, and am President of the WRC board. I am surrounded by a caring, smart and engaged group of women who go above and beyond to help women and girls with integrity and warmth. I've conducted several presentations for our extensive career services program, and participants share that they walk away with tools and guidance that helps them in their career search. When I meet with our career consultants, professionals who give their time generously to women who are stepping back into the career world after being stay at home moms, or women who are young scientists - all levels of women - they each state that they feel as though they get more than they give. What a terrific group to work with and be part of! Shelley Potente
I am grateful to be part of the Women's Resource Center. The volunteers, office personnel, board members and advisory team work very hard to ensure that girls, women and families are provided support and encouragement. Whether people are experiencing difficult times or where there is opportunity to develop their potential, women can turn to the Women's Resource Center and will receive wonderful support.
I have been volunteering for the WRC for only a short time, and I can already see how the organization impacts the lives of women and girls. The services provided by the dedicated staff and volunteers of the WRC are invaluable to women in transition across 5 counties. I am proud to be a part of an organization that strives to truly make an impact and to be a member of a team of dedicated, passionate volunteers.
The Women's Resource Center is an organization that I am proud to be affiliated. The WRC helps women and girls for 40 years through counseling, career programs, parenting programs, help with transitions like "coming out of marriage" and leadership.
One program that I am proud to be a part of is our career services to help women build the skills needed to achieve their goals. We offer seminars for women at every stage of their career from before college graduation to 2 years, 5, 10, ...25. An example of programs are "using social media networking to find work".
Another program that is so distinctive and unique is our girls leadership program. We work with middle school girls on confidence, goal setting and leadership skills.
They participate in workshops at their school and then attend a culminating girls leadership conference with girls from other schools.
The WRC reaches many women and girls each year on a small budget! Please get to know us... Utilize services, volunteer or donate today!
I have been involved with Womens Resource Center for 40 years. From the very beginning it has been a unique organization serving women in many ways not available anywhere else. The current leadership is made up of staff, volunteers, and board members who have an amazing creative energy to find ways to serve more women every year who don't know where else to turn. It is well worth supporting this organaization both financially and as a volunteer.

Volunteering at WRC has been such a rewarding experience. The programs offered are high quality and varied so they support women in many different situations. The programs help women to learn and develop themselves no matter what the challenges. I couldn't image the community without WRC.
The WRC helped me through a time of self-discovery. I felt free to cry and be vulnerable. Slowly and without judgment I gained confidence and self-worth from these women (you know who you are: Shelley, Bobbie, Beth, Angela, Cheryl, Hope and others). Highly recommend this group of kind and wise women.
The WRC is a wonderful organization with many dedicated volunteers. They serve thousands of women annually, providing legal, counseling, career, and family-related services in order to improve the standing of women across multiple counties. It is a rich resource to the community and I have personally seen so many lives positively impacted by the services provided by WRC.

The Women's Resource Center offers a variety of wonderful resources for women across the region. Because of WRC, over 2,500 women receive over 4,500 touch points per year, across 5 counties. I specifically volunteer in the Career Services area of WRC and I can't speak highly enough of the staff and of the services that are provided at WRC. First, WRC offers career coaching, where women are offered one-on-one consultations with effective and experienced counselors. Second, women in transition can join a career transition group, to receive support for career change or re-entry into the workforce. Finally, WRC also offers a Speakers Series, once a month, alternating between morning and evening sessions. The morning sessions are more geared towards those in transition, while those in the evening are more geared towards women looking to take their current careers to the next level. All of the speakers are seasoned professionals who share their experience and advice with WRC's audience. Overall, the WRC is an organization which inspires women to take control of their lives and to find success and happiness. The dedication and phenomenal skill set of the staff members and volunteers at WRC make this a "must" for anyone who is looking to rediscover themselves and their workplace involvement.
The Women's Resource Center is an outstanding nonprofit, serving all women in the Delaware Valley. With experienced, caring attorney and therapist affiliates, the WRC is able to offer low-cost legal and psychological help to women in need. In addition, career counseling and seminars are regularly available. The professionals that staff the WRC are dedicated to helping women in all stages of life, from middle school girls through elderly women. The staff is constantly seeking new ways to help women, including their work with women veterans. Very highly recommended.

I started volunteering at the WRC about a year ago. I heard about the WRC through friend that has volunteered here for over 20 years. I knew from her comments that it was a great organization, but when I put on my volunteer hat, I really understood just how much the WRC helps everyone it touches.
From women calling with basic needs to thorny legal problems, the WRC refers women to the organizations and resources that offer exactly the right help. What's more, women are encouraged to call back if they need further assistance.
The WRC also offers many low cost programs as well as counseling for women in need. As someone who has gone through divorce and custody issues, tried to be a single parent, and had to look for work while in crisis mode, I know how very valuable -- how incredibly important -- it is to offer help at such times.
I applaud the WRC for its efforts to offer the very best information and programs possible to women with a wide range of needs. They work hard to raise the funds to support these programs, and are constantly improving them.
The WRC definitely deserves recognition as a GREAT nonprofit!

As a prior volunteer and current Board Member I have seen first hand the wonderful work this organization delivers to the community. For almost 40 years the WRC has been dedicated to providing support to thousands of women and their families experiencing crisis or life transitions. The programs and services offered include information and referral, free or low cost legal support, counseling, career services, single parenting, girls leadership and outreach to veterans. I am proud to be associated with such a fine organization.
WRC is there for all women in southeastern PA. All you need to do is to pick up the phone. WRC serves women needing assistance with a career transition. WRC helps girls build leadership skills. This non-profit offers legal assistance for women facing divorce. Our website spells out all the details. http://womensresourcecenter.net/
WRC is your community go-to place. If you are a woman and you need help, WRC will connect you with the resources you need, right now. Crisis counseling is available. And now WRC has a unique expertise in helping women veterans.
I found the Women's Resource Center through the internet. I was in transition myself and thought volunteering at WRC would be a good experience for me. However, I didn't know what to expect. Volunteering at WRC exceeded all my expectations. The women at at the Center are caring and friendly and I was so impressed with the variety of resources and programs they offer to women. I had the opportunity to attend one of their free career seminars and was impressed with the presenter and the content. We are lucky to have this type of organization in our community.
I am a volunteer at WRC and have found that am not only a 'giver' but a 'taker'. I have met such wonderful women at the Center whom have inspired me, given be a new found confidence and encouraged me to reach for a higher ground. Not to mention my great and rewarding experience trying to help people in great need and giving them hope. Hat's off to WRC. Nancy S.
I find it rewarding to help women who need legal advise. It can be a scary ordeal to face divorce and not have legal advice and sometimes little money. Nancy B.
I am the Girl's Leadership Ambassador at WRC and my experience with the WRC has been incredible. I happened upon the WRC website on accident and was surprised to find that the WRC ran the Girl's Leadership Programs. I had been a Girl's Leadership participant years ago and my experience with Girl's Leadership was a key stepping stone for me. It gave me the tools and the confidence to propel myself forward and become who I am today. As soon as I saw this, I immediately contacted the WRC to ask if I would be able to volunteer. Being under 18, I was not sure whether there would be any opportunities for me but the WRC was so helpful and gracious. From my initial application to over six months later, WRC has served as a great source of inspiration for me. I have been able to meet so many great women who run the services at WRC and are truly dedicated to helping each and every person that contacts the WRC. WRC impacts both girls and women in such a positive and inspirational manner and I am proud to say I am a volunteer at WRC. I have been welcomed with open arms at WRC. The WRC is always looking towards moving forward and advancing to improve each and every day. Not only have I truly enjoyed and learned immensely from volunteering at WRC these past few months, but I would also love to continue volunteering with WRC as I graduate from high school. I could not be happier to have found the WRC website that one day. It has lead to a whole new world of inspiration and opportunity.
I have been volunteering at the Women's Resource Center for over about 18 months and cannot say enough wonderful things about the organization. All of the employees, volunteers and Board Members are truly dedicated to helping Women and girls in many different capacities. Being involved in this organization has not only opened my eyes to the number of people the WRC helps, but has helped me grow personnally in many ways. In addition to volunteering in Triage for Career Counseling, I have helped at several events held off site. Over the past 6-8 months, I have seen an increase in the number of programs sponsored by the WRC, which most assuredly will continued to benefit more women in the area. I am very proud to be part of such an impactful organization.
I am a Graduate level intern at the Women’s Resource Center and thus far, have been blown away by the services provided by the staff and volunteers. The Women’s Resource Center has an impressive number of highly dedicated, empathetic and competent volunteers who provide not only resources but a confidential, supportive and nonjudgmental experience for women who are reaching out during a major life change or crisis. The volunteers and staff are obviously passionate about the services they provide and are often willing to go the extra mile to find resources tailored to someone’s sometimes very specific needs. I am so grateful to be a part of the Women’s Resource Center and am looking forward to the exceptional learning experience I know I will receive within the organization.
I am a Clinical Counseling graduate student in the area and have currently been a volunteer for a little over two years. As a volunteer, Women's Resource Center is a great place to lend your hand to someone who is reaching out for help. There are too many people that are not listened too, to be able to hear what someone is saying and give hope and resources is a great feeling. I have found my experience so far to be educational and inspirational.
I look up to the ladies who run WRC as role models who are strong, intelligent, empathetic, respectful and passionate women. They really make you feel appreciated and are there to support and give guidance to the volunteers in any way they can. WRC has amazing programs for all kinds of obstacles life brings us; I myself have benefitted from using their one On one career consultation. There are so many low cost programs and free information out there for us to use!!
- Proud to be part of an organization like this!
I have worked with the WRC both as a volunteer and a board member. The hard work and dedication of its staff and volunteers is impressive, and pays off with superb programming and services that help girls and women at times when they most need support. As a testament to WRC's services, time and time again, women who were been helped by the WRC come back to say what a difference it made in their lives, to volunteer, or to contribute money. This is a terrific organization that serves all of us by helping women to be strong, self-reliant, and contributing members of our society.
I am a college student who attends Cabrini College. I am a social work major and The Women's Resource Center was where I had my junior year internship at. I learned a lot about the field of social work through my internship experience at The Women's Resource Center. The staff and volunteers really care for the people and community serve. I no longer have my internship at The Women's Resource Center, I am now a volunteer and I recommend The Women's Resource Center to people all the time.
I joined this group to give back to the community in which I live and work. To my amazement, even though my spirit was to "give", I constantly am on the receiving end. I have met great woman, have had wonderful experiences, received life and business lessons beyond compare. This is truly a win, win, win for you if you want to get involved and feel great! If you need assistance with anything, Woman's Resource Center is a great place to go. Services include and are not limited to Career Counseling, Divorce Counseling, Leadership programs for Women and Teens, Philanthropy opportunities which go directly to your community, Networking...I have participated in classes on Negotiating, Silencing your inner critique, What to wear Career Wardrobe, ect.
As a past volunteer and sometimes paid consultant for the Women's Resource Center, I can't say enough nice things about the wonderful group of people I have met there. There was a time in my life when I could have used some help and had nowhere to go. What I needed was the Women's Resource Center, but at the time I didn't know about them. I volunteer and help so that other women who need it have a safe and supportive place to go. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor or old or young, the Women's Resource Center will help you stand up for yourself when you are having trouble doing so on your own.
This caring group of individuals offers invaluable services to women in need of information and support.
We are so fortunate to have WRC in our community!
I came across the WRC by chance, through my school. They not only have invaluable services such as low-cost Counseling & family law consultations, free Workshops and Seminars etc. but they also provide a source of information for when your life may have taken a critical turn and you just need to know "where do I go from here". I especially applaud their Girls Leadership Program, it's so important to reach girls at that important middle school age. I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to work with WRC and assist in strengthening their presence in the community.
