They say that "home is where the heart is" and this was true for me, while I spent almost a year at the Women's Prison Association shelter in Manhattan. The staff was instrumental in helping me get back on my fee, and in finding suitable housing. It was the staff at the shelter that gave me hope, and the courage through their Job Readiness Workshops, Zumba classes and Metro Card assistance program. Women's Prison Association empowers women and their children for a Better Way of Life and I want to say Thank You to the dedication and courtesy afforded to me throughout my difficult times.
Even now, after 2 years; I can still communicate with staff and get directions as needed to continue on my path. If you seek independence and is willing to achieve your goals, please know that Women's Prison Association is Key to self-fulfillment.
This picture was taken at one event at WPA where we had a day of being fitted for clothing and hair styling. Getting prepped for the work environment, building self esteem and personal growth. Thank you WPA!
