Women's Lunch Place is a place full of compassion, kindness, and run with a clear sense of purpose.

I had the privilege of volunteering at WLP a few times now, and the impact it had on me is immeasurable. As a volunteer, I am always meaningfully engaged .

The women who come to WLP seeking assistance are resilient individuals. WLP offers those women nutritious meals but also find a comforting sense of community. As someone involved in food agencies, I've been consistently impressed by the dedication and care exhibited by the WLP team. They serve women from diverse backgrounds and unexpected walks of life, demonstrating that compassion knows no boundaries.

Highly recommend supporting WLP with your time and donations!

Serving the invisible women of Boston in meaningful ways every day--that is the Womens' Lunch Place. The Womens' Lunch Place, seen at www.womenslunchplace.org, provides more than just nutritious and delicious meals to homeless and poor women. They are the shower and shampoo so badly needed. They are the clothes that provide warmth in winter. They are the job counseling that leads to independence. They are the close-knit social network for the lonely. They are the laundry for the clothes that need cleaning. I was a recipient of their services for a short time. The caring and understanding they give to those who would otherwise be forgotten is immeasurable. I am proud to now be able to support them financially in their efforts to bring shelter, sustenance, hope and caring to so many every day. Women have special needs while homeless and poor; who else would provide a new bra and panty every so often? This was just one event that was special to me. Please help them continue doing so much good for so many.

in 2000 i was homeless in boston, living in shelters. i found the WLP and they provided much needed services above and beyond that cater to the special needs of homeless women. i am no longer homeless and am proud to support WLP financially whenever possible to help others who are homeless or in need. it is by far the best place i experienced during my entire homeless period. not only did i receive services at WLP, i often assisted in serving meals and have volunteered sporadically when able since.

I was lucky enough to placed with the Women's Lunch Place (WLP) for a summer internship in my junior year of college. This is a special place. Not only does WLP provide food and shelter during the day, it also offers a warm community and a real sense of dignity for each woman who comes through the door. Part of my project involved interviewing 80 or so of the guests at WLP, and the common thread that connected their stories was how this "home" in the basement of an old church reaffirmed their sense of self in tough times and gave them hope for the future. I love the ways that the WLP engages volunteers (serving food, helping with art projects and music therapy, etc.) and partners with the community. And of course, the many yummy lunches the chef cooked up!

I am currently spending three months volunteering at Women's Lunch Place as a Community Service Sabbatical from Citizens Bank. I am in complete awe of this organization. It has a tremendous impact on the lives of women in our community every single day. The women I have spoken to so far have told me their incredible stories. They have told me how grateful they are to have a place where they feel safe, have warm breakfasts and lunches and do so much more. We are all lucky to have WLP in our community.

In 1995 to 1997, I was living in Boston and volunteered once a month at The Women's Lunch Place. The experience I had during that time was something so precious that I have since thought about it all these years later. The women who were recipients of the love and kindness of the the staff and volunteers of The WLP were gracious lovely people who appreciated the time and efforts put in to their well being and help given to get back on their feet. In 1998, I moved back to California where I have been since and almost every year, have shipped to Boston numerous cartons of clothing, shoes, cosmetics, etc. that I have collected from friends and relatives. I'm sure the staff thinks I'm just plain silly for doing so, but knowing how grateful those ladies were makes it worth the extra step for me! The WLP is such a special place run by such incredible people it is a blessing to all!

Womens Lunch Place! Where do I begin? They are my saving grace! I have been homeless for approximaetly 2 years!! That all ended for me because of the wonderful staff at womens lunch place!! They took a sad and broken soul and gave me the ability to lift my head and face the world again! I was just about to give up and I heard of womens lunch place and was hungary. Thinking that this was just a free meal I made my way to their door!! But what I found inside was more than a meal!! It was a safe and warm caring place to be!! They didnt look at me and say oh heres another one of THOSE people again! They said HELLO MY FRIEND COME ON IN AND MAKE YOUR SELF AT HOME!!!! I Found my crushed and broken soul healing and each time I went their it just kept getting better and better!! I was able to start being a guest volunteer too!! And I made it through manicuring school with the help of wlp without them I just dont know!! I cant describe the amazing healing power they have on your life!! I know have a place and a manicuring license!!They do so much and they dont forget you ever they always make time to listen and you can tell they guenuinely care!! The two people of all the staff that have touched my life this past year are Connie the art director and Joshua the chef. I have worked as a cook for over 15 years and had lost my belief in my self!! I loved spending hours everyday in the kitchen helping and just talking kitchen talk with josh!! It reminded me I am a worthwhile person. The fact that josh saw my abilities and told me that I was good and put faith in me. That you cant buy!! To feed and nurture the broken souls! And Connie remerged my artistic soul that had been buryed in all the depression that I was going through due to my situation!! She helped me to remember who I am through the art project and the photography!! I now carry my camera everywhere!! And then there are all the beautiful ladies!! We are all sisters together supporting each other! Its like a very special family!! We may fight and bicker from time to time like real sybilings but when we support each other with kind words and hugs its guenuine!! Wlp is a place no matter what is happening in your day you can go and hold your head up!! BECAUSE AT WLP YOUR NOT HOMELESS YOU ARE A VERY IMPORTANT INDIVIUAL!!!
