Mission: Women's congressional policy institute (wcpi) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy organization whose mission is to bring women policymakers together across party lines to advance issues of importance to women and their families.
Programs: Legislative education - women members of congress program: wcpi sponsors briefings, meetings, and receptions open only to the women members of congress both to educate policymakers and to strengthen relationships across party lines. Wcpi also sponsors similar meetings open only to the staff of the women members of congress. Women chiefs of staff program: established in 2015 by democracy fund, the program is intended to foster bicameral personal relationships across party lines, to build a support network for women chiefs of staff, committee staff directors, and senior leadership staff, and to develop bipartisan women's leadership. In addition, wcpi serves as a resource to congress, women's organizations, academia, the media, and the public, answering inquiries and providing information on women's issues and the history of the congressional caucus for women's issues.
congressional briefings - wcpi organizes educational briefings on a range of timely and relevant issues and sponsors three briefing series: 21st century workforce issues, women's health, and international issues.
fellowship program - the congressional fellowships on women and public policy are extended to a select number of students pursuing or having recently completed a graduate degree and who display a proven commitment to equity for women. Fellows work in congressional offices as legislative aides for seven months. Formerly the wrei fellow program, wcpi became the home of the fellowships in late 2013.
