Last year was the first year that I attended the Unconference hosted by the Women Veterans Alliance in California and WOW what an experience it was! Not only did I leave feeling truly inspired and in awe of my fellow sisters in arms but I also won the Melissa Washington Small Business Award for my company, La Jolie Fete. Winning the grant money for my business was life-changing and I don't mean that in a cliche sense. At the time my family and I were going through some pretty intense struggles so receiving the award reconfirmed for me to keep pushing for my dreams. I am so thankful for this group of women and I look forward to seeing how many more Veteran women this group helps!
