It has been a privilege to be part of this organization. As a Web Developer at Women of Connections Ministry, I had the chance to collaborate closely with IT and public health researchers to address their challenges by first understanding their needs firsthand. The ongoing constructive feedback and insights from users, collaboration between the team and community volunteers led by Ms. Adewusi is invaluable in refining and streamlining the resources people need. The flexibility to use different technologies and explore open-source tools was an added benefit, enhancing both my skills and the organization’s impact. It is truly a rewarding experience to contribute to this wonderful team. Thank you for the opportunity, Ms. Adewusi, Ms. Patel and be a part of the change you bring to people of Virignia.

My initial volunteer work for Women of Connections was mid-June 2023. This has been a life changing opportunity. I have seen myself grow both as an individual and my work ethic. I have had the chance to learn, collaborate and work with great minds. The WOC volunteer program is mostly hands on which makes it quite easy to grasp concepts. If anything, Ms Aanu has been nothing short of consistent. The hardwork and effort that she puts in is reflected by the rate at which the nonprofit has been growing. The fact that it is a Christian centered community just makes it all worthwhile!.

I served with WoMen of Connections during the Spring 2023(Feb- June) in the Communication/IT department as a Web Developer for maintenance of the website . It was a great place to learn and work with a lot of knowledge and connect people with various backgrounds from all over the world. I think this volunteer opportunity gives me immense pleasure and confidence to boost my technical as well as behavioral knowledge with proper guidance. Mrs Aanu( founder) is such a nice person you can work with. I wanted to extend my sincere thanks for your great support and guidance during my time here Aanu. I have had a wonderful experience working with you over the past 3.5 months and have experienced tremendous personal and professional growth.I do recommend this place to young professionals who are ready to explore the industry and I ‘am sure they will definitely get benefit.Thank you once again for the wonderful opportunity.

Working at WoMen of Connections Ministry gave me an opportunity to practice and apply my technical and leadership skills to prepare me for the professional world. Their supervisors are caring and allow for flexible scheduling, which is very important since I am a busy college student.

I enjoyed my time working at Women Of Connections Ministry. Working here as a Web Developer/IT Support Intern helped me greatly with my frontend development skills, as it taught me many skills that I had never learned in school, I now know how to create websites for my own personal use as well.

WoMen of Connections is by far the most dedicated and professional non profit organization I have seen. Everyone works hard under the principle value of the organization. The founder, especially, devote at least 10 hrs a day to the job. She truely respect people with different backgrounds and skills, and she understand the importance of listening and communicating. The programs this organization provides update frequently and they are always eager to help. It is a great place to work at and a great place to seek help.

It was a pleasure to be associated with the organization. As a Web Developer at the Women of Connections Ministry, I got the opportunity to work closely with other IT and social service volunteers and find solutions for some of their issues/problems after understanding their requirements or problems first-hand. Continuous constructive feedback and direct user experience review from the end users (the social service volunteers and families that the organization helps and supports) helped me immensely in simplifying and improving the proposed solutions. Technical stack independence and the opportunity to explore the open-source platform is another plus which helped both the organization and my technical knowledge. It was a wonderful experience being part of this fantastic organization. Thank you for having me at the WoC Ministry!!!

Through my time so far interning at WoMen of Connnections Ministry, I have gained so many useful career skills and also witnessed such love, compassion, and dedication from everyone working at WOC. The operating team is constantly striving to serve the community and the state of Virginia to the best of their abilities and does so with intentionality, respect, and cultural competence. This is an incredible non-profit to intern, volunteer, or partner with in any capacity. I can't wait to see how they continue to expand and show love in all they do!

WoMen of Connection Ministry (WOC) focus is on the education and support of students of international heritage and the native-born citizens. The agency is professional and empathetic to all in need of services. The Director, Ms Aanu Adewusi and her staff is enthusiastic about helping in anyway they can. There are discrepancies in acquiring a proper and quality education for students who are from low-income families and who do not have resources. WOC offers a mentoring reading program for students of who are between the ages of 11 and 22 years of age, and assigned to the 5th to 12th grades. There is an adult education class, and an ESL class. There are 16 year old students in Public Schools who reads at 3rdcgrade levels. The discrepancy is that teachers in public schools have and are promoting these students to the next grade level. That is a disgraceful practice.
If the students cannot read, how will they complete a job application for employment. How will they be able to lease an apartment if they cannot read. How will they have any type of life when they are uneducated?the school system have set up a system where the student will fail, and this is wrong!
WoMen of Connection works with every member in the household to support and encourage their efforts to succeed, and to become fully contributing members of their communities.
WOC has reached out to Virginia's delegate to ascertain why someone is not working with the homeless vet who have given much for family? WOC called Board members, delegate Betsy Carr. As of date, no response. WOC called Ms Stephanie Lynch, council person to apply for education advancement in public schools, and shelter correlation with agencies providing the services
to the homeless, especially those with families
They are yet to receive a response from either.
They offer so much to those people who are in need. I suggest that you contact them if you are ever in need, or can help them aide other's.
