Our firm, Financial Growth Partners, spent a day of Service with Women Giving Back. I was blown away by the mission, the people, and the operational effectiveness of their team. I am so impressed with this organization and the care they put into their work. I attended an open sort with my company for our day of service and I am blown away by the passion I saw from everyone in the facility. The organization and systems they have are phenomenal, while also being so gentle and caring with people who need their services. There was a buzz of energy as everyone is excited for the renovation and I am so excited to see it! I've already signed up for another day of volunteering because it was such a positive experience!
Proud to share our recent Day of Service event at Women Giving Back! At Financial Growth Partners, we hold an annual day of service where our team members are encouraged to come together as a team and take the day to give back to their local communities. The Reston office nominated WGB as the organization they wanted to support this year! On October 17th, eighteen members of our Reston team came out to volunteer, collecting donations, sorting clothes, and helping prepare the store for the many deserving clients of WGB! It was such a powerful reminder that the small collective effort of many can make a difference.
At Women Giving Back, Inc. their mission is to empower and support women and children facing challenging circumstances, and it was an honor to contribute to such a worthy cause. The team of staff and volunteers that help power this organization are absolutely incredible!

I began volunteering at Women Giving Back in 2021. I have worked in most of the volunteer opportunity positions and have enjoyed each one. The best thing about this organization is the cause and mission. Everyone who I have volunteered with has been kind and caring. There is an emphasis on quality of items that are stocked in the store. That left an impression on me that these women really do care for the communities we serve. Working with the clients has been fulfilling and when you get a thank you and a smile it fills your heart with joy knowing you made a difference in someone's life. Plus, they are so appreciative for the work everyone has done for them. Many special events are planned for the clients and a group that is near and dear to my heart, Veteran and Military families. The busy staff makes a point to go out of their way to greet you by name. They are warm, welcoming, often amusing and always have positive words. Volunteering at Women Giving Back has been a fulfilling experience for me and I hope to be of service for many years to come.
Women Giving Back exceeds all expectations and then some! I have personally been affiliated with this organization for many many years and truly have seen so many women and children's lives changed.

I started out as a volunteer pre-pandemic and was so impressed with the size of the facility and organizational procedures in place keeping it running smoothly. Post-pandemic I worked in the public schools and was a referral partner with WGB; I was able to see the incredible impact WGB makes on individual families. And now I am so fortunate to have been welcomed to WGB as an employee and team member, engaging volunteers. This is an amazing place to work with a mission that makes me proud and excited to come to work! Everyone works together to support women and children in need, and we could NOT do it without our AMAZING volunteers! Our volunteers are the heart of our organization.❤️

I have affiliated myself with this NPO because the mission provides a dignified restart in the lives of women and children who have survived the most difficult of circumstances. I have served in a variety of previous roles; such as board member, committee chair and now a general volunteer, since 2016. Collectively, we make a big difference in getting deserving people back on a good path to a fulfilling life.

They (The CEO, Staff and BOD's) by far, in my opinion are the best in class in terms of transparency, accountability, organization, collaborative interactions with the community (Chambers of Commerce, Other Non Profits and the General Public) that directly impacts the success of their mission and raises awareness leading to more volunteers, sponsors and broader gratification for the constituents served and their families. The organization is staffed with experienced and passionate women. Their primary goal is unified in the support of those that come into the facility. The true testament to the organization is that those served come back to volunteer, so others can get their lives back on track as well.
This organization is awesome! They understand their clients and treat them the way all should be treated. Behind the scenes they work very hard and most people don't really know what is involved in making this all happen, a lot of sweat equity! They are my number one thought when I want to donate.
I volunteered here for the first time last week, and I was blown away by the scope of what they are doing and how many people they are serving in our community.

I have volunteered with Women Giving Back for several years. During that time, I have watched them grow and increase their ability to help more women and their families who are in crisis. They provide quality clothing to the women that are seeking employment. Those women are able to walk into a job interview with pride. Their children also benefit by beautiful clothing so that their experience at school and with friends is more positive. I started volunteering at this wonderful organization over a year ago. After a thirty year teaching career, I wanted to continue being involved in the community. I like fashion, so it was exciting to find an environment where I could donate nice clothing/ accessories while also helping others in need. The experience has been wonderful. Our leader, Lisa, is always pleasant and welcoming. The staff and other volunteers truly seem to enjoy the experience. It’s such a pleasure to see the smiles on our clients’ faces, when they are able to find lovely clothes/ accessories for themselves and their children!

Women Giving Back is a well run, high impact organization. As a volunteer, I always coming away feeling like I have made a concrete impact in helping the community. The experience they create for clients/customers is excellent. It is professional and respectful, and sends clients out with one less thing to worry about.
Being a woman working in the local construction industry, I was introduced to Women Giving Back many years ago (Home Aid time). More recently, the women's gym I belonged to hosted drives for business attire on behalf of WGB, and I was thrilled to donate my gently used work clothing to an organization that directly provides clothing to women in need.
Fast forward to my retirement last year when I decided to volunteer my time to WGB. Honestly, I had no concept of how WGB operates and my first few volunteer hours were a bit drab (for me) i.e. hanging children's' clothing. But, I love fashion and shopping. The boutique was intriguing so I continued to volunteer. When the request came for people to become sort leaders, I signed up for training even though I had no idea of what that meant. This opened the door for me to start understanding the actual operations and to become more involved. WGB does a lot, and the relatively small staff needs volunteers in order to operate. Volunteers are appreciated for their service and there are many different "jobs" that need to be done. For example, taking donations, sorting and hanging clothes, moving boxes, hosting drives for particularly needed items, fundraising, assisting clients with shopping or picking up diapers, driving to donation centers for pick up, and of course preparing for special events such as Thanksgiving food distribution, Holiday stores, and prom to name a few.
The mission is to help women and children who are in crisis (including refugees) and are referred to us by a case worker who understands the services WGB provides. WGB has expanded its reach and services based on community needs. For example, diapers are expensive so in the last few years, WGB established an impressive diaper program that serves the entire DVM.
As a volunteer it feels really good when a client expresses her gratitude to you, or when you've neatly restocked the boutique with clothes and accessories that you would be proud to wear. Between believing in the mission and the hands on nature of tasks , I feel my time spent there is worthwhile. In addition, I am confident the organization is managed effectively and is poised to offer additional services to folks in the DMV.
I love volunteering for this important and worthy organization. They are good stewards of donations and value volunteers. They are an asset to our community.

We organized a corporate community outreach event with Women Giving Back that was a fantastic experience! They have an amazing mission to help women and children in need in the DC metro area and serve a diverse variety of clothing needs to make a big impact. Their approach is inclusive of people coming from different backgrounds and situations and it feels great to be able to help. Their staff is very friendly and kind and they are very passionate about helping other people. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to help people in difficult situations, individually or as a group.
This was a healing experience personally. More organizations need to come forward for such initiatives. WGB, has excellent programs, ideas with kind and huge hearts to think of someone who needs support and cater to them. I am very proud to be a part of this volunteering on behalf of WGB. World needs these kinds of actions to bring more peace and happiness.

It was really nice, the volunteers there are really kind hearted. I went there to find a prom dress, and they made sure I found one, giving me their true opinion and helping me try some dresses. They are great.

I work for a non-profit organization that works with women. Being given the opportunity to utilize this resource is amazing. Not only does it help the women rebuild their wardrobe and financially lift some weight, but there's also a certain self-confidence that's being given to them. The staff is there ready and willing to help encourage and show the ladies around. And I am grateful for this program. Women giving back are always going above and beyond to help the community. They have made a tremendous effort to build a store like feeling for their clothe donations and allow women to "shop" with dignity. Their support is always done with love and their clothes are inspected and treated to the point of looking brand new. They also support with diapers, and some food, making it an all around support experience for women.
WGB is a great organization. I brought of group of young ladies to their store last month to get clothing for employment. Erica and volunteers provided top quality customer services to us.
WGB is an amazing organization! I have worked with them for the last three years and I only have good things to say. I love how they adapt to the needs of the families. I love that the families have the opportunity to shop for the clothing they need. They also have events throughout the year like back2school, Christmas gifts, and more. This nonprofit has been a consistent source to meet the most urgent and basic needs for women at risk and their children. The highest level of intentionality and devotion is given to every detail to ensure an uplifting experience for each client. I have been a parent liaison who referred those in need to this non-profit in the past.
Last week, I had the privilege to join a group of ladies in a warehouse sorting event. The process and strategic approach to each task revealed the level of care that is required by WGB in order to be a transformative step in the life of each client. Our entire group was inspired to be a small part of this process. This activity was hosted by WGB as a "Sort and Sip' birthday event, and was a the BEST way to celebrate by far!
This is a wonderful organization with lovely ladies running it. From Nicole to Julia and the rest of the team, they're full of energy and contagious positivity to help the shoppers and the cause. I love being part of this organization as a volunteer!
I first heard about Women Giving Back in December 2020 while attending a Women in IT webinar and was interested in learning more. I signed up as a volunteer and began sharing time with this great organization almost immediately. I work as a case manager, and the work the volunteers and employees do is great and helps so many families in different area of Northern Virginia. So many families who are in desperate need have been assisted by this amazing non profit.
I am impressed with the respect that WGB shows to its clients. While the warehouse side feels like a warehouse, the store on the other side very much feels like a store where any woman would want to shop.

I've volunteered here several times and the clients are so appreciative. These women come in with their kids and have childcare while they shop. The choices are pretty impressive (volume and quality) and it's well run.
I like knowing that the clothing and other items I donate to Women Giving Back go to women and children in need. These items help women rebuild their lives whether it be to get a job, go to school, or manage their families. It is easy to just drop off the donations at any of the locations.

My teenage daughter has volunteered with Women Giving Back for the past year. I had the opportunity to go with her and completely understand why she has become so devoted to this organization. The non-profit is excellently managed from social worker referrals, to donation collection, to coaching their volunteers.
My daughter was recognized for her leadership skills in volunteering. She has received supplemental training in identifying victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. WGB trains volunteers on social responsibility. They also helped her develop a new respect for client privacy.
WGB gets their clients through social worker referrals. On the days of the "store," the clients (women and children in need) are able to select clothing, shoes, accessories, and toiletries at no cost. They are so appreciative to be treated with the respect they deserve. When those in need cannot make it to the store, to-go bags are packed with essentials. WGB also provides interview and work clothing to women trying to improve their circumstances.
Overall, Women Giving Back is an outstanding non-profit. If you are looking for somewhere to donate you time, money, or extra clothes it is an excellent choice!

An amazing clothing bank for women and children. Clothes, accessories, toiletries and even snack paks for the kids - all set up as a typical mall based clothing store. Available items are great quality. Patrons are referred from multiple social service agencies and are not charged for any of the items they select No clothing for men as so many of the women served have experienced domestic violence or trafficking and aren't comfortable shopping with men around.
Women Giving Back is a non-profit organization where donations are regularly received and often there are "stores" where women can get referred to come and obtain up to 50 items of clothing, as well as toiletries, accessories, and more all for free. As a volunteer there I've gotten familiar with the area, my favorite part about the whole thing is that the store is a safe place for women. Meaning men are welcome to volunteer in the warehouse but in the actual store it's advised that it stays strictly women because the women who come in all have different backgrounds and stories, some traumatic, which is why we want them to feel safe. Not only that, but it's a great opportunity for people looking to volunteer, the leaders are very helpful and will never get tired of questions you have and the environment is very friendly.
In order to move people to action, you must first connect them the problem your organization is trying to solve. That is what Women Giving Back is all about. I have volunteered in the past for Women Giving Back and everything about the entire nonprofit has been truly a blessing. From the help they provide to women in need and the volunteer opportunities the organization has provided services and helped several women in many aspects of life.
WGB is one of the most appreciated and gracious non-profits in the DMV. The volunteers are hard working and love it. The recipients are relatively easy to work with and follow the guidelines. I intend to become more available to give my time to the program.

I am with a group of volunteers that come to help out in the warehouse. The employees there are always very friendly and super helpful! The warehouse and store sections are also very organized and clean. It's always fun and upbeat and we look forward to helping out every time.

Women Giving Back not only helps women and children in crisis in northern Virginia in the most dignified ways, they have also created an amazing volunteer experience. Volunteers love coming to the warehouse and helping the clients in the boutique. They also work with youth groups in the area and get young people involved in very meaningful ways.

Women Giving Back has provided many families a new start. They not only supply clothing, toiletries, shoes, etc for free, during COVID 19, they are providing food, diapers and feminine products, etc to anyone in need.
The volunteers, board members and staff all give freely any thing the clients need. There is no limit to the healing, pride and generosity. The women who come to WGB, feel renewed and more confident when they have been through the doors of Women Giving Back.
My sister first told me about Women Giving Back when I was looking for a place to donate clothes. Since I retired, I’ve been able to volunteer alongside some amazing women and a few good men. WGB helps women in bad situations get back on their feet with dignity and respect.
I first volunteered with WGB in 2014 and was inspired by the work they do to provide dignity to women and children in crisis. Since that time, I have donated clothing, participated in sorting events, assisted women while they are shopping, and hosted a meeting with Social4Good to introduce WGB to our community. The leadership team has always been very responsive to the needs of their clients, engaged with their donor community and connected to other non profits serving those in need. During the pandemic, their ability to pivot to find ways to support basic needs and collaborate with others has been impressive and impactful.
WGB was originally started by women involved with Northern Virginia Building Industry Association and Homeaid NOVA, their charity that partners builders and their vendors to build and renovate homeless shelters. I have observed what a critical organization WGB has become to women and children in homeless shelters here in the DC area. The selfless giving of their volunteers and the generosity of those who donate clothing and other necessary items for those in homeless shelters is a testament to how much committed people can change the world.
CleanOffice has had such a blast going out to the store to Volunteer! It is so great to be part of an organization who helps these ladies out. Whether its clothes, accessories, toiletries.. they have EVERYTHING!

Saturday, I volunteered to work a couple of hours at the WGB center. We had a little tour of the facility. What a surprise when we went from the warehouse side to store side. It has a real boutique feel and I am sure the ladies love the shopping options.

My company organized a volunteer event though our woman’s action committee. We helped sort clothes and get thing staged for the weekend shop opening. The shop and the volunteer work is very well organized. It is obvious that the full time volunteers have their clients’ interest at heart and do their best to make sure their needs are well served.

I have been involved as a volunteer for over 10 years. We provide clothing and accessories to women and children free of charge. The ability to help these women take care of this basic necessity is easy yet so rewarding. They are grateful and empowered to continue their journey of getting back to a normal life. We work with the Youth For Tomorrow, Wounded Warriors, local mental health independent living facilities, we aid disaster victims, fire victims, anyone in need. The volunteers are fantastic and generous with their time and their compassion. Truly a great organization to work with and to be able to help those in a time of need. I have served on the board of WGB, and am currently the President of the Board of Directors.
I have volunteered at Women Giving Back a few times but have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. It is a great way to help other women get necessities in a very inclusive and fun environment.
Women Giving Back is a great place to volunteer! It is all volunteer based, some that are more experienced and have been with the program. They welcome new volunteers as well and you don't have to have a specific schedule. Working in the store is very rewarding because you can watch over small children or help other women shop, and find something that they like!

My experience with Women Giving Back has been very fulfilling. First of all, I really love the whole philosophy that Women Giving Back has of taking all of the generous donations given to them and then "giving", yes, giving them to women and children that need them...not charging them anything. So many organizations that we are familiar with take our donations and then turn around and sell them rather than give them to the clients that need them. I cannot tell you have rewarding it is to spend time with a client and connect with them to help them make the most of their time at Women Giving Back and to see how happy they are when we find an outfit they love,a handbag they adore or the perfect pair of shoes. I always leave my volunteer time feeling hopeful for the client and their future but also grateful to have had the opportunity to help them.
This is the best non profit in the DMV! WGB is a wonderful organization that is well managed and very resourceful. The WGB store offers clothing, including shoes, for needy women and children in the area. WGB also donates additional clothing, including baby clothes, to local partner charities in DC and throughout Northern VA. This is a fun place to volunteer by yourself or with a group. It is also a great place to donate new or gently used clothing (and get a receipt for your taxes). Many of the clients who shop at WGB are fleeing domestic violence situations and are trying to re-enter the work force to earn a living wage. I have volunteered for over two years and I am amazed by how many families have been helped by this organization. WGB continues to have a positive impact in the comminty.
Women Giving Back provides a variety of resources to women and children in crisis. Their primary program is the WGB boutique store, where women and their families can shop for clothing at no cost. If they are unable to come to the store (work schedule, lack of transportation, etc), they can request a "Bag to Go" of clothing hand-selected for them. WGB also provides seasonal support through various programs- snack packs, back to school supplies, Halloween costumes, holiday gifts, and prom dresses. In addition, Women Giving Back supports other charities by distributing quality clothing donations directly to them. As a regular volunteer, I see first hand how Women Giving Back supports the community. Everything is centered around the women and children that they serve!
Women Giving Back is a wonderful nonprofit that helps women and children across the national capital area gain the confidence they need to succeed in life by providing excellent clothing to them at no cost. Not only does it help the women in need, but those of us who volunteer to help the women and children shop learn of the resilience of these women and how they are able to improve their lives and those of their children! Another group who find Women Giving Back to be their nonprofit of choice is the donors of clothing. Since Women Giving Back gives clothing for free to those who need it, many individuals who have clothing for women and children that is in great condition love to donate to WGB. It gives them a feeling of ease and personal satisfaction to know that their clothing is going to be well used by someone who really needs it. Finally the relationships that are developed among the volunteers is wonderful. Some of my life-long friendships have started at Women Giving Back.
The organization not only has wonderful shopping experiences for the clients, but they will also create a "bag to go" for those clients who cannot make it to the store for any reason. Personal shopping is a real skill, and some of the volunteers are wonderful at creating a new wardrobe for women and children. Additionally there is a program to distribute clothing to other organizations throughout the region which give clothing to those in need. Through this community distribution partner program clothing has been able to reach those in need in DC, Virginia and Maryland who cannot find the transportation to get to the facility in Sterling, VA. Finally there is a transportation program that provides transportation from shelters and other nonprofits if there are 12 or more women who would like to shop at the store.
The knowledge that clothing is going at no cost to the clients who are truly in need, along with the flexibility of programs to distribute wonderful clothing really makes a difference to those who support Women Giving Back!

Women Giving Back provides clothing to women and children in crisis. It isn't just clothing that is given, but a shopping experience that results in a self-confident and smartly dressed woman leaving the store. All of the at least 50 garments, 4 pair of shoes, handbag and jewelry are free for the shoppers.
The volunteers are all there because they love the mission of the group and really love interacting with the clients. The youth are there to help peers shop, find great clothing for young women and take care of the children while the women shop.
They are trying new ideas to make sure they are meeting the needs of the clients -- different shopping days, special shopping days for special groups etc.

I first volunteered in 2014 with WGB and fell in love with the work. Everything matters here because of the women and children we serve. You meet them, you learn their story, and then understand why hanging clothes was so important. From accepting and sorting donations all the way to stocking the store for shopping days, it is a heart-felt experience. Truly blessed to have found Women Giving Back and look forward to my time here.
I have volunteered with Women Giving back a few times and there are not enough great things to say about them. The people running things have more passion and dedication than you can imagine! They truly CARE about the women/children they are helping and they believe in making a difference. They are changing lives day in and day out - helping women regain their confidence and independence. They are inspiring to work with and I look forward to continuing to partner with them.
I wandered into WGB one day when I was looking to donate women's clothing. I was given a tour and was AMAZED at how large their facility is. Then I learned about their mission and how much they give back to the community. I was hooked!! I now volunteer as often as I can. It is fun to help set up for a shopping experience and then to actually participate in the shopping day. You see full circle how your donations and your volunteer time goes to help these women and children who are is such need of our support. If you can only donate clothes.... great! But if you can, donate a few hours of your time - I can guarantee you will leave feeling better than when you arrived!
I was homeless with 6 children in a hotel for 9 months without way to afford to buy clothing and shoes for my kids or self because I was paying the hotel on my own and daycare expense and womens giving back has always opened there doors to help me with what they could every month without judging me … when I finally found a housing program to help my homeless family with a home ,womens giving back offered to help me with furniture ,clothing, Christmas gifts for my kids, and all the items I needed for my new home and I mean everything we needed from beds to towels,sheets,pots and pans, everything my kids needed they were their to help me … I am so blessed to have been helped by this program in my time of homelessness and till this day they continue to help me... God has grace on theses ladies and program...
I first heard about Women Giving Back a few years ago during their annual toy drive in December. I then learned more about the wonderful work that the organization provides and I had the opportunity to help the volunteer coordinator at WGB organize a toy drop off at an establishment in LoCo. Since that time, I have brought both my daughters with me to volunteer at the WGB store to help sort. We all feel so good about volunteering for an organization that gives so much to those in need and we are now regular volunteers and look forward to our next session at WGB!
Thank you so much for all you had done for me. You provided me with clothing when I did not have any. ( I was the one who wears a size 3) Again, Thank You so much. You probably do not remember who I am because you help so many people. I would not ever stop remembering you. You have such an amazing huge heart. Huge hugs to you and your team. When I first read about Women Giving Back I knew that I wanted to get involved. I started by donating clothing to WGB...then moved on to helping support several sort events, both with Women of the Washington Redskins (WOW) and also with the Zonta Club of Fairfax...and finally helping the ladies select items of clothing during the "store hours". It was such an awesome experience helping those who needed everyday clothes and those who were looking for clothing to wear when going on job interviews. The effort by all of those who participate is so rewarding and such a blessing to the ladies and their children. So happy to be a part of this effort!
This organization is truly a blessing to those living in this area. The cost of living is extremely high and it becomes near impossible to be successful when the price for everything from shelter to food to clothing is altogether astronomical. Women Giving Back has an incredible impact on the community and I know they touch many lives through the wonderful work they do.
The cost of living is extremely high in our region. Low income households are spending upwards to 40-50% on housing costs alone. After food, transportation and other essentials costs this leaves little to no room in the household budget for clothing. Women Giving Back has been a crucial resource and nonprofit partner to our low income individuals and families Cornerstones serve in our shelter and affordable housing program. We thank you WGB for all you do in our communities!
I first started as someone that donated on behalf of my previous company. I then donated on behalf of my own company. Soon thereafter I realized, I could help more by way of sharing the joys of this incredible organization, join forces with these amazing folks and donate both dollars and time. I've never looked back. To see the faces of these women and children as they shop, laugh, learn and prosper. To see the faces of the volunteers, board members, community members and those that learn about WGB for the first time. Every moment and experience thus far has been great to be a part of; no matter the role I play. WGB is making a difference for sure.
Just a few short years ago WGB started with a small group of women who wanted to make a difference. They started small but had a big vision that they've fulfilled - and more. Their energy, dedication and big hearts have resulted in thousands of homeless and down-on-their luck families get much needed help. Additionally they've helped hundreds of more fortunate young adults learn the importance of caring and giving. Nobody knows what the future holds but my guess is they'll continue to expand and make an even greater difference than they originally envisioned.
Dedicated, focused, warm, life-inspiring, funny, committed, determined, smart, compassionate...not enough complimentary adjectives in the dictionary to describe the women of WGB. As I am no longer in the area and am now sadly a former volunteer but still and always will be a current donor, I have seen firsthand the impact these ladies make on the lives of so many women and children in need. They all embody the pay it forward philosophy. God bless them all and the people they serve!
Women Giving Back in a valued organization with a mission to improve the lives of the women and children they serve. On my first visit to drop off donations, I was greeted by the Director and given a personal tour of the store. She shared their vision for increasing their space to provide an even better shopping experience for their clients. I tell all my colleagues and friends of this great organization and have arranged clothing drives to further their cause.
Women Giving Back helps struggling women struggle a little less. The WBG "store" located in Sterling, VA provides clothing and accessories for women. From casual items to professional attire, there's apparel for every size and style. There is also clothing for babies through young children. How terrific the shoppers must feel when they leave knowing that their children have the clothing they need!
WBG offers opportunities for volunteers to sort through clothing so that the store is inviting and organized for the once-a-month shopping event. It's fun to chat and sort, knowing you're also helping women in need.

Members of GAP MINISTRIES here in the USA and in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and India have benefited greatly from WGB's clothing distribution.
In particular, the group of women referred to as FORGOTTEN WOMEN in the deep rural areas of the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone, women who have lost husbands and children in the war, have within the past 5 years relied on WGB for donations and the team has always generously lend their hands all the way to Africa.

Women Giving Back is the best clothing resource I have ever worked with. The clients I send to the monthly store always return with beautiful clothing that builds their confidence, and recognizing that many low-income families have work schedules and/or transportation limitations that prevent them from coming to the store themselves, Women Giving Back is willing to prepares bags of clothing in my agency's clients' sizes for us to pick up and deliver to them. Women Giving Back also distinguishes itself from other clothing resources by providing breakfast and childcare for children while their mothers shop, and by offering an experience akin to a boutique so that clients feel like shoppers rather than charity cases.
This is an outstanding organization with a life-changing mission. I got the opportunity to tour the store and I am currently working on planning a volunteer day with the institution I am involved with. I am proud to help such an organization and happy to support them in any way that I know how!
Women Giving Back is an incredible story of a charitable brainchild developing into a reality that has a significant impact on the lives of many through the hard work and dedication of it's founders and many volunteers. I heard first hand at a recent fundraiser from a beneficiary of WGB what a blessing they were to her as she re-entered the work force. Keep up the great work !
Women Giving Back is an amazing organization and in the short time that I've been working with them, they've already been able to provide clothing, accessories, and confidence in my young female clients looking to change their lives and start a career. One of my clients came in to meet with me after they went to one of the "shopping" events and was wearing clothes from WGB and said they absolutely loved the location and the set up and they were excited to have clothes to wear to their upcoming interview. I also can't say enough about their willingness to go above and beyond and help each individual referral. I've been able to provide scrubs to my clients in health care programs and also give them a resource to get age appropriate clothing for their young children. WGB is making more of a difference than they know in the lives of these women and I look forward to having this resource available for more clients to come!
This is one of my favorite non-profits to donate to. I have dropped off items twice now and the volunteers are so friendly and are always hard at work. One time, it was the Director of the Board that greeted me. I love the mission that WGB is striving for and I always recommend them to friends and family. I have even signed up to start volunteering there :)
I work with homeless families who have at least one head of household that is a Veteran. The terms "homeless Veteran" are an oxymoron yet unfortunately, it happens. We know there's a correlation between how people look and how they feel and clothing is a part of positive self esteem, no one wants to "look" homeless. WGB helps our Veterans stand proud again. I can't thank the program enough.
