Women At Risk Int'l is a humanitarian organization that creates circles of protection and hope around women and children through faith-based, culturally sensitive initiatives. I have volunteered with Women at Risk International for the past 3 years and also attended a First Responders weekend conference that was hosted by this organization. I have been very impressed by the compassion of the director and the volunteers at W.A.R. Int'l. I'm also amazed at the varied, creative ways that this organization reaches out to women and children both here in the U.S. and abroad. W.A.R. Int'l has created safe houses and other support networks in over 19 countries. Many women are given the chance to make hand-crafted items which are sold at jewelry parties here in the U.S. (that is how I have been able to volunteer). The money from these parties goes back to the women who made the hand-crafted items and allows them to make a living and leave a life of poverty and/or trafficking. I have nothing but good things to say about this organization and would encourage anyone to volunteer for this cause.
