During my time at WOL, I loved going to my internship every day. I heard about WOL at a Nonprofit Career Fair at my school. This organization stood out to me the most because of their cause. It also suited my interests in helping the elderly, event planning, and marketing. I started off as a Marketing Intern and I loved it. I fell even more in love with the organization and their cause. During my internship, I learned professional and practical skills for marketing, event planning, and product management. I worked directly with my supervisor and the marketing team and interacted with everyone including the CEO. The people who work there inspired me to work hard because they are very passionate about what they do. They really care about their interns and want them to learn and develop skills while they're there. I loved working for their a cause so much that I also took on another role in the organization as Wish Coordinator Intern. This internship taught me a lot as well. There was never a day I was bored and my time there was definitely well-spent. It's extremely rewarding to enrich people's lives and help them fulfill their lifelong dreams.
I have recently volunteered for this organization and all I can say is it was "blissful." The compassionate staff and other like minded volunteers enriched the lives of our senior citizen population when we delivered 1,400 roses! The impact was absolutely displayed when we saw the smiles of the recipients, and sometime tears of joy. I look forward to future volunteer opportunities with you!
