Nonprofit Overview

Mission: MISSION STATEMENT: “To raise awareness for the Missing by bringing them a voice and supporting the families who are affected by working together to advocate for the Missing. It will also work to provide educational and informational activities to increase public awareness and to increase public knowledge of prevention measures.” HERE IS WHAT WE DO: • Provide support and resources for Families of the Missing • Partner with Rapid Search and Rescue to make/distribute posters of the Missing • Distribute posters and information about Missing Persons on Social Media • Provide printed posters to families • Connect Families of the Missing with resources available to them • Work with local LE and SAR agencies to assist Families of the Missing (including providing food for searches in our area) • Work with area Legislators to have April recognized as Missing Persons Awareness Month • Raise awareness through events held in the community • Partner with Lamar Advertising for our Annual Billboard Campaign where we bring attention to ALL of Wisconsins's Missing Persons • Partner with The Wisconsin Clearinghouse to co-sponsor a retreat for Families of the Missing

Results: April has been declared Missing Persons Awareness Month every year since 2015 in the state of Wisconsin, since 2018 in Green Bay, and since 2019 in Brown County. We've worked with the Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Missing and Exploited Children & Adults to hold 2 Retreats for families of the Missing. We continue to partner with Lamar Advertising for our Annual Billboard Campaign since 2016. We continue to partner with The Brown County Sheriff's Office to hold our Annual Missing Persons Awareness Event. We've held Missing Persons Awareness Events every year since 2015. We've shared the Missing Persons posters/information of 1661 missing persons, with 233 who remain missing. We've been able to provide resources and support to many families, and continued to support them.

Target demographics: raise awareness for the Missing by bringing them a voice and supporting the families who are affected by working together to advocate for the Missing.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2019, we shared the information of 449 Missing Persons, and currently, only 19 of them remain missing.

Geographic areas served: We are located in Green Bay, WI, but serve the entire state of Wisconsin

Programs: We work with legislators to declare April as Missing Persons Awareness Month. We then hold a Missing Persons Awareness Event where we bring awareness to the Missing, support families, and educate the public with informational activities to increase public awareness, and to increase public knowledge of prevention measures. We simultaneously hold the Annual Billboard Campaign where we are able to bring attention to ALL of Wisconsin's Missing. Daily, we raise awareness by sharing the information about Missing Persons on social media, and support families.

I started following when a young ladies Mother went missing. I have followed her for several years. It saddens me every day to see so many people that have been missing for many years! It is really eye opening and shocking! I pray for the families. This organization keeps people looking for the missing in recent times and in the past. I really believe that this organization keeps hope alive for the many families that are missing loved ones.

Wisconsin Missing Persons Advocacy, Inc., is a great asset for the state of Wisconsin, especially the loved ones of missing persons. They do a great job of advocating on behalf of the missing, and their families. As an investigator who helps families of the missing in Northern Wisconsin, they are very helpful, especially with keeping cases, even older ones, in front of people, law enforcement, and the media, which is priceless for all those involved in the missing-person industry. Their reach across the state, and the Midwest, is an asset, as are the networking opportunities they foster and maintain. — Michael Neiger, Lead Investigator with Michigan Backcountry Search and Rescue (MibSAR) www.MibSAR.com

I have been lucky enough to be a volunteer for WI Missing Persons Advocacy Inc for 1 year now! Marsha has built an amazing team of volunteers to provide the most up to date information for people on their loved ones and spreading the word to others to bring answers or most importantly their people back home. Volunteering here has been incredibly rewarding and very proud of Marsha, Jackie and the other members for the dedication put into this. They have started a program for billboards of missing persons to be posted around the state bring the awareness to a boarder scale. This non-profit organization has their whole heart in everything they do and never stop working to bring home our WI missing persons!

Wisconsin Missing Person's Advocacy performs a vital service for our community. They not only promote missing person's awareness for WI, they fill a critical gap in family services. As a search & rescue volunteer with Wisconsin K9 SOS SAR, I always recommend this organization to family members seeking support & direction about what they can do while their loved one is missing. This organization provides resources and support directly to the family in a way that augments what law enforcement and civilian SAR groups can provide.

I am so grateful that this organization exists to support families. Their dedication in promoting awareness and assisting families is invaluable. They have provided education, and more importantly comfort, to numerous families.

Words cannot begin to describe what an amazing job Wisconsin Missing Persons Advocacy Inc to make sure every missing person in Wisconsin has a voice and is not forgotten. WMPA holds several fundraisers every year in order to bring awareness to all of the missing persons in Wisconsin. WMPA is a nonprofit that everyone wished there was not a need for but unfortunately far too many go missing every year and without this organization many would not be aware of all the missing in Wisconsin.

I am a member of Rapid Search and Rescue Corp. and we work closely with WMPA. We help in partnering with them in missing person flyer campaigns and helping to raise awareness for those missing in Wisconsin. There have been several families who we have referred to WMPA to help assisting with the cost of printing missing persons flyers.

We have attended all of the Missing Persons Awareness Event's that WMPA has continued to put on annually. This event not only brings awareness to all of the missing it also helps bring the public together to bring awareness on resources available to those with missing loved ones but also helps raise safety awareness to help prevent someone from going missing.

Its truly an honor to be able to work with Wisconsin Missing Persons Advocacy. They are an amazing organization and unfortunately many who belong to WMPA know from personal experience what its like to have a missing loved one.
