Mission: Wings of Love Parrot Rescue Center of the Bluegrass is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill rescue, based in Lexington, KY, with officers and foster homes all over the state. We offer many services to parrots and the people who love them, including surrender/adoption, boarding, and educational events. Our foster parents are all experienced bird caregivers, and all rescued or surrendered birds remain in a knowledgeable, parrot-experienced foster home until properly evaluated, seen and medically cleared by our avian veterinarian, then adopted.

I took in a severely neglected blue and gold macaw. She was living in a roach infested cage that was beyond filthy. She had no sparkle in her eyes. She was locked in this prison for almost 6 years with no affection. She was kept covered because she was screaming. Since I have 5 parrots of my own, I was unable to keep her. I contacted Wings of Love and spoke with Jenn about the urgency of the situation. She immediately offered help! I fostered Sweetie for a little over a month. She received vet care, food and a cage. She was adopted into a perfect home with other parrots and a parrot experienced family! This rescue genuinely cares for its feathered babies!

WoL does such an amazing service to the MY area. Pouring love, compassion and heart into all they do. Rescue work is hard emotionally, and financially, yet this group keeps pushing forward. No judgements from them. Thank you

I was given a severely neglected macaw to rehome. I have 5 parrots of my own and was unable to keep her. I contacted Jen and she stepped right up. She brought me a cage to use as I offered to foster Sweetie until a Home was found. Wings of Love Parrot rescue paid for her vetting and her food while I fostered her. She was adopted, but I miss her!

This group works hard and sacrifices a lot for the birds in their care. They go the extra mile to make sure they adopt to knowledgeable, loving homes.

I adopted my cockatoo Bebe from Wings of Love Parrot Rescue of the Bluegrass. Great experience ! Wonderful rescue. Thank goodness for such kind people that care so much for birds. I contacted Wings of Love when I saw my cockatoo on their Facebook page (it was love at first sight). My cockatoo and I are the perfect match and Jennifer has been so amazing. Jennifer has been with me every step of the way. answering all my questions and educating me on the care and living with parrots. I will definately adopt from them again.

A very dear friend of mine was terminally ill and hospitalized. My friend lived in Kentucky and we only had a short time to be with him and help his family to prepare for his passing. He had a Cockatiel that was 60 years old. They had been companions for 30 of those years. We found Jen, with Wings of Love Parrot Rescue. She could not have been more compassionate, genuine and caring with her help. I contacted her and within a few days she met with my friend to give him peace of mind and heart about the care his friend would receive. She took charge of Woody's pickup, transport and homing. We will all be forever grateful for her and The Wings Of Love Parrot Rescue. This is an amazing organization with amazing people. They are most deserving of recognition. Thank you again Jen.
