It is such an honor to work with such a passionate group of people. As we approach our 10 year anniversary, we will work even harder to serve our veteran population.

MISSION:
WINC: For All Women Veteran’s (“WINC”) mission is to bring awareness to experiences and concerns facing women veterans nationwide. We do this by providing a safe space where they are able to re-adjust to life after service. WINC promotes the female veteran's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Since our inception, we have rallied with female veterans to change the legislature, advocate for improved health benefits via the VA, and provide a community that will have each other's "six".
WINC does amazing work! Each year they host a retreat for female veterans who have been traumatized by Military Sexual Trauma (MST). The MST Women Veterans’ Retreat is meant to be an empowering and affirming way to work on issues common to women who have experienced the human impact of a sexual trauma in the military, and are attempting to resume a fulfilling civilian life. It is meant to be a fun and enjoyable experience, and also an opportunity for you to make whatever personal shifts are necessary to recover from the stress of that traumatic event, and move forward into the post-military life that you envision for yourself.
I have seen firsthand how life changing this retreat is. Female Veterans are fortunate to have an organization as WINC who truly care about them.
I used to find it difficult to identify myself as a veteran. Thanks to my fellow sisters at WINC, I found my voice.
The winc program is truly a blessing to the veterans. Knowing that the veterans are thought of is one of the best things that could happen for us , especially after departing from active duty. Knowing that you can identify with fellow soldiers who deal with some of the same issues you may have is always a great benefit knowing that you are not alone. Winc is also a mouthpiece for veterans who can’t seem to be heard when things need to be done. Thank you again Winc staff for all that you all do.
They held a veterans event this past Saturday 10/21/22 and I was a volunteer per Quette Jackson. The event was very helpful . Many veterans left out with smiles and saying Thank You for all the help. They provided the veterans a continental Breakfast and a box lunch which everyone enjoyed. They served over a hundred Veterans from all walks of life. From getting information to filing or starting claims. I would like to say a special Thank You to Legal Administrator Specialist Edward McKinnon from the Veterans
Affairs of Detroit, Michigan for coming down and doing extra help for some of those vets. I personally am not a Veteran but my Father and all 6 of my brothers served in the arm forces. I think Winc did a marvelous event and I was very proud to be a part of it. Please remember me on the next one.
I seen them help so many veterans with information on benefits and resources they didn't know about.
WINC, a Michigan-based veteran organization, has been a viable, visible organization in addressing the needs of women veteran! It is headed by a board of directors comprised of veteran women and concerned professionals with familial military connections. Although the base for WINC is in MI, board members hail from many States. WINC was the prime mover in the creation of the Military Sisterhood Initiative (MSI), a concept developed by the creator of WINC, a veteran Zaneta Adams*. In partnering with the organization Challenge America, whose focus technology and the arts to assist veterans, the MSI program was launched in 2018, and has benefitted thousands of veterans throughout the USA.
WINC’s weekly programs connect these ladies to one another to prevent the isolation that often occurs on reentry to main society. The organization prioritizes assisting returning veterans to receive their veteran benefits, which is a lengthy and often cumbersome process because they are multi-faceted, based on the kind of service, where one specifically served, and whether or not special compensations are needed due to injury or harm.
As the business sector often highlights their goal of hiring returning veterans, WINC assists in this process by identifying eligible veterans and connecting the two, based on skill set and interests. Michigan colleges and universities that have programs and special assistance designed for the returning veterans often partner with WINC for identification of eligible veterans and other needed guidance.
The organization also engages with community organizations and businesses to provide many opportunities for veteran meetups in the community, e.g., entertainment venues, concerts, workshops, restaurant, retreats. Citizens are happy to have tangible ways to express thanks to those who have been willing to serve our country/them through military service!
WINC's deep concern for veterans' well-being is expressed in an active process of connecting women veterans who have experienced various kinds of trauma while serving in the military, with certified professionals able to competently address such issues. Deeply painful trauma unaddressed / treated, cause some veterans choose self-isolation, which is detrimental to their future well-being, or worse!
WINC has provided seasonal retreats at beautiful rustic camps and retreat centers for restorative relaxation in nature, high impact themed sessions, as well as equine excursions and therapy. These are provided at no cost to the veteran, as WINC fundraising efforts are extensive and ongoing!
* WINC has been effective in highlighting the needs of the returning veteran and the roles the State and local government, business sector, community organizations and concerned citizens can provide for the ease of reentry and reconnection. Our founder, Zaneta Adams (Army vet) was selected by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, to head the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency as its Director!
WINC for All Women Veterans work tirelessly to provide valuable resources and support to our veterans.
Women injured in combat (WINC)are some of the most powerful inspirational and motivational women and community service a Muskegon County. Not only have they served our country in many different aspects but I see them daily working with youth feeding other veterans and people of the community, voluntarily there a time and give them back to so many with no expectations other than pure service. The good deeds an impact that they leave behind are forever remembered and appreciate it I Muskegon County.
I attended a WINC weekend Retreat with fellow women Veterans. This was the first time in 50 years of being a Vet that I got together with a group of other women Veterans. After meeting, getting to know each other, the rain didn't stop us from enjoying the weekend. Besides talking, getting a binder with some self help guidance, we did several crafts, made signs, decorated cement pavers, played some fun games, yoga, horseback riding, and a fun cooking dinner contest, which was a tie! Meeting this group of women was a great experience for me and I hope to attend next year. Proud to be a woman Vietnam Veteran.
The winc program has so much to offer women veterans. Winc supplies women with a safe place to open up and not feel isolated or lost. Winc is a sisterhood of women helping each other to be the best of themselves in spite of all that they have gone through. No one knows what women veterans go thru accept another woman veteran. Winc supplies a safe haven for women veterans.
WINC is an excellent avenue for connecting with your military sisters! I thoroughly enjoyed attending the women veterans weekend retreat in August, creating friendships, and being able to talk through experiences only understood by other female veterans.
I have to say as a VET myself, prior to meeting Zaneta Adams and the women of WINC, that I had never thought of womens trama as any different from mens. Needless to say, I was incredibly wrong about this. I was extremely disappointed to find out that there are no treatments or facilities out there to help them with their gender specific tramas. This is when I decided to become involved and become an advocate for their cause using all resources available to me to help grow their cause and get the recognition they need. As a male VET it's important for me to know that our sisters know we see them and they matter!

WINC is a phenomenal group for women vets and provides much needed services to women vets that are transitioning or have been in civilian world for years but unaware of what is available to them. They provide resources and a safe haven to interact with other women vets, to bond and heal. WINC is not just an organization it's a military family in and of its own! I'm not just a donor but also a member!
With WINC, I have encountered all kind of wonderful, stuff, I was being brave to go get stuff done.
women veterans and have created new friendships. I have also volunteered at various events in the community and have some great networking opportunities.
They sent me to Camp Courage, It gave me the Courage to tell my story and start getting the help I needed. An awesome group of Women!
WINC has helped me by giving me responsibilities, being a 100% disabled veteran I can volunteer my time and I am held accountable for things. I have encountered all kind of wonderful women veterans and have created new friendships. I have also volunteered at various events in the community and have some great networking opportunities.
Thanks to WINC I was able to connect to other Military woman veterans that could relate to the same things I experienced in the service. Thanks Zaneata for your amazing organization, 1SG (Retired) Zenaida Cruz. US Army
I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting Zaneta and the rest of the people involved in this organization last year at thier first annual gala. I have never met anyone more passionate about helping female Veterans,it radiates through everything they say and do.
Hearing the Veterans they help talk about how they have been treated through WINC is inspirational. I look forward to hearing and seeing more positive results from WINC for a long time to come.
WINC gave us agenda time and helped promote our entrepreneurship education program, Michigan Veteran Entrepreneur Lab, to veterans connected to WINC. We were especially grateful for the opportunity to meet women veterans and talk together about entrepreneurship as well as outreach and recruitment strategies that make sensefor military connected people. They understood exactly what we are trying to do and made a good connection to further our program goals. Thanks, WINC! Www.gvsu.edu/mve
