I strongly support the partnership between our organization and the WillStrong Cancer Foundation. The funding provided by the foundation has been instrumental in staffing bioinformaticians, helping us advance our research and support the fight against cancer. The collaboration has been invaluable, and we are grateful for their generous support.
I recently had the privilege of attending the "Catch Me Outside" event organized by the WillStrong Cancer Foundation, and I am truly inspired by the remarkable work this foundation is doing. WillStrong Foundation's dedication to providing financial support for research, specifically targeting children and young adults diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and other high-risk leukemia, is nothing short of commendable.
In today's world, where medical advancements are crucial, the WillStrong Foundation stands at the forefront of the battle against pediatric cancer. The Foundation's mission to bring more precise and effective treatments to young patients diagnosed with cancer is both timely and essential. Childhood cancer treatments, often outdated and ineffective for younger patients, urgently need a transformation, and WillStrong is leading the charge.
One of the Foundation's notable achievements lies in its support for strategic research projects that aim to develop precise medicine tailored for children and young adults. These projects, vital in revolutionizing pediatric cancer treatments, rely heavily on the generous contributions and support from private foundations like WillStrong. The "Catch Me Outside" event I attended was a testament to the Foundation's innovative spirit and determination. The event featured a myriad of outdoor activities, from volleyball and Spike Ball to basketball and Corn Hole, catering to individuals of all ages. Amidst the laughter and camaraderie, it was heartening to witness a community coming together to support a cause that impacts so many lives.
The WillStrong Foundation's dedication to enhancing the lives of children and young adults battling leukemia is truly commendable. By supporting their initiatives, we are investing in a future where pediatric cancer treatments are not only more effective but also tailored to the unique needs of younger patients. Willstrong has made an incredible contribution to the research towards Children's Blood Cancer and Research at Children's Hospital of Colorado. Cutting edge science is dependent upon new ways to analyze large gene expression computational datasets. Funds from Willstrong have not only allowed researchers here to investigate new and exciting questions with the help of a committed bioinformatician, but also planted the seed to train new researchers with this expertise to pave the road of future discoveries. WillStrong Cancer Foundation are an exceptional organization led by Claudia Maniatis. This group have dedicated themselves to funding high impact cancer research through the Department of Pediatrics are CU Anschutz. We can’t thank WillStrong enough for their contributions to our department’s research.
WillStrong is innovative in its application of funds, supporting current research for better, kinder treatments for children with cancer. Fundraisers are creative, engaging the community to be a part of the effort. With a very very small overhead, I can be sure my donation is truly making a difference in the young lives affected. Children with cancer simply are not supported with Federal funding - we have to do better, and WillStrong is charging the way.
WillStong is an excellent non-profit working to fund research for childhood leukemia. The public outreach and fundraising are spot on and this foundation has the backing of experts in the field who desperately need more funding. WillStrong is helping to provide that and the funds are going directly to where they are needed at Children’s Hospital of Colorado.

I have been a board member for the Willstrong Foundation for the last year. Our Executive Director has passion for getting dollars where they are needed to fund research on pediatric AML. We are having great success by funding research with a physician at the Children's Hospital of Colorado. The fundraisers we have held have been met with great success as we build continue to build momentum for the future!
WillStrong Foundation Trust has moved quickly since its formation less than two years ago. Within a year, it had in place financial support for research for childhood and other cancers. Dedicated to the memory to Will Maniatis, WillStrong funds research needs and supports the unique needs of childhood cancer patients.
WillStrong runs a lean operation that maximizes contributions and puts donations to use quickly. The foundation’s vision has gained broad support from community members as well as medical and research advisors.
The Willstrong Foundation knows that research is the key to discovering breakthroughs that will save the lives of children diagnosed with cancer. Will was a warrior and angel among us on this earth. I am honored to support this foundation and so proud of their work. The Willstrong Foundation supports projects that will bring the most pressing treatments forward as quickly as possible. Willstrong is a beautiful endeavor, an effort to bring good out of the ultimate tragedy of losing a child. The Maniatis family suffered the loss of their beautiful son Will, and in his name created this nonprofit to further the fight to end childhood cancer. Please support this wonderful organization!
It has been a pleasure to serve on this board for the past few years. I am in awe watching Claudia, the founder, devote herself to raise money and awareness so that more kids have a fighting chance against pediatric cancer. This is THE nonprofit you need to get behind, and I know this from personal experience. Our family watched as a child we loved and cared for very much, suffered in battle, with no real treatment options that did not cause further harm. We stood helpless while my son's best friend dwindled before our very eyes. Imagine explaining to your child that there is nothing the best medical teams can do to save their best friend. Now, we know, there is need to fund gaps in research for treatment that cures without destruction. I promise, this is a place where your support can make a REAL difference in the world. This is perhaps the finest example I have ever seen of a non-profit founder -- Claudia Maniatis in this case -- grabbing a cause of importance to her, and building it quickly into a powerful and self-sustaining organization. She has raised an astonishing amount of money from a large population of supporters, and distributed those funds thoughtfully (and with urgency!) to people and organizations who are leading the fight against childhood leukemias. There is no organi9zation I would rather support, and no organization I know of that is as fundamentally *effective* at attacking its mission and honoring the children who suffer from this terrible affliction and inspiring so many of us to mobilize to defeat childhood blood cancers. In the wake of unimaginable tragedy, WillStrong provides funding and hope for young blood cancer patients. As someone who had a childhood blood cancer, I can say that the Willstrong Foundation is doing amazing work to bring awareness to AML and other high risk leukemia’s in children. Childhood cancers are severely underfunded and Willstrong is changing this reality one day at a time!

I wish there wasn’t a need for the WillStrongFoundation, that children never got the devastating blow of a cancer diagnosis and then have to endure brutal treatments. BUT there is a need, and what this Foundation is doing for children with cancer goes beyond measure. It’s a gift from Will Maniatis who doesn’t want other children to go through what he went through. If we all pitch in, we can make a huge difference in supporting much needed research for treating pediatric cancer. This Foundation gives all of us a chance to make a difference.
