My involvement with the WWCC stretches back to 1999. For the past 23 years, the Center has provided me with a new appreciation of arts & culture, empowerment, and community connections. Their programming and services truly transform and save lives. Their LGBTQ archives are among the largest in the nation. One day the Center saved my life, introducing me to other folks just like me. I will forever pay that gratitude forward by “getting in the Way”.
There are many wonderful organizations in Philadelphia and surrounding towns. The William Way LGBT Community Center is at the Center, offering services of all kinds to all kinds. Our beautiful lobby is the living room of our communities. The building houses a library and an archive, an art gallery, trans resources, support for elders, peer counseling, recovery groups, computers for all to use, meeting space, a ballroom, music, theater and a safe environment. I've been a member, a fan and a regular attendee since the beginning.
