Mission: Founded in 1996 on a "Mothers Promise" to beat this disease. Primary activities are to raise funds to support research ; to educate the public regarding the cause and prevention ; and through specific public awareness programs, assist in the early detection of this insidious, deadly cancer.
Programs: Mole Patrol: Free skin cancer screenings provided across the country with volunteer Board Certified Dermatologist. To date we have screened over 4,000 people!
SS KIDZ- Program that goes into the schools with age appropriate curriculum and teaches the children SunSafety. k-5 with games, music and storyline; 6-12 with slide presentation and open forum. Also SunSafe legislation inacted- SB#310-Billy's Bill for SunSafety-Hats on School Campus and SB #1632-The Common Sense Sunscreen Issue. To date over 6,000 students all across the country have been taught sunsafety!
