My husband was admitted to the Tokarski Hospice in W.Salem, Or. 5/25/2018. He died on 5/28/2018. Which amounts to 3 days. The in-house attendants were exceptional . They were kind and caring and always ready to help when needed. I have no complaints. The room itself was very nice.
My complaint comes with the fees. I knew upfront that it was $4,000 for the first 15 days with no refunds. He was only there 3 days and it makes it extremely costly. I would think they would take into consideration the shortness of his stay and their services.
Also, another complain was I asked if someone could call a friend and inform them of his death as I was not in a condition that I could handle talking at this time. It probably would have taken 5 minutes or less. I was told they do not do things like this. I thought that was cold and thoughtless.

When my mother was passing, I had no idea what to expect. Six years after she was diagnosed with a liver disease, mom said enough is enough. I did not expect her to be gone 2 days later. Hospice ladies were kind, gentle, caring, informative & just present!! I don't think I could have been as strong as I was if they were not there.
