I have volunteered for WCA on and off for years, both in the wildlife rehabilitation facility and fundraising. This group provides compassionate care for injured, orphaned or ill wild animals. I've seen everything from turtles, bats, coyotes, squirrels, etc., and of course all kinds of birds. During baby bird season alone there are upwards of 1,000 birds at the facility, everything from tiny, unfeathered guys who need to be fed every 30 minutes, to growing birds learning to fend for themselves, being readied for re-release in big aviaries. This is a small nonprofit that serves Sacramento and surrounding areas and has been around for 30+ years.
