Mission: The White Buffalo Teyospaye, founded in 2003, grew out of the need to overcome the desperate conditions of poverty, homelessness, malnutrtion, violence and hopelessness that threaten the physical, spiritual and cultural existence of many reservation children. The White Buffalo Teyospaye is a partnership of Native Americans and non-Native Americans who combine resources, talents and skills to serve the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of these children. We provide a happy, loving environment where every child can find nourishment, shelter and peace, while building self esteem, respect and pride in their Lakota and American cultures. Additionally, the White Buffalo Teyospaye provides the best aspects of the Lakota and American cultures to provide the children the skills to be self-sustaining, while retaing their rich Lakota culture and traditional values.
