I assisted in a virtual event during the high point of the Covid-19 Pandemic to raise funds for wheelchairs for individuals that had lost their homes and other effects in the Northern California fire-riddled communities of Sonoma and Napa counties. We delivered wheelchairs to assisted living homes, veterans facilities, and community centers where people needed assistance. The entire experience was so heartwarming and I saw the immediate impact that a wheelchair makes on not just the individuals' life that is receiving it, but the community around that person. Truly an experience I'll never forget and I will continue to support this work for years to come!
I have coordinated donations from several groups for the Wheelchair Foundation. They have made our donations go farther with 'matching funds' grants and sent us lovely photos of the people we were able to help. Very professional to work with.
I've worked with the team at the Wheelchair Foundation for many years and am always moved by the contribution they make to helping others. They have worked with many organizations like Rotary International to distribute wheelchairs all over the world. They bring mobility to people in the US and Abroad and they are fun to work with. They put on excellent events and are active in the community. They are the best.
One of the best charitable organizations out there. Doing great work and making a real difference in peoples' lives.
Over the last 15 years I have been on 15 wheelchair distributions to Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Philippines.
Our Rotary club and other Rotary clubs in our District 5220 USA along with "our friends and relatives of Rotary" have raised funds to donate to TWF in order to bring mobility to nearly 5,000 thankful people young and old in need. The coordination efforts provided by TWF are done with thought care and timely logistics working with foreign Rotary clubs, governments and healthcare agencies. Dollar for dollar the benefits out weigh the cost as we always come back relating our last distribution and begin planning our next. The Wheelchair Foundation should be Very Proud for the services, time, talent and financial support they provide.
The Wheelchair Foundation does far more than give aid to deserving people. it gives them the human dignity they deserve! A wheelchair takes an afflicted "beggar" off the ground; puts them in a chair, gives them mobile access to the workplace, where they can learn, and then earn a living for their family!. It is one thing to be out of money ; but it is a lot worse to be out of hope! Wheelchair International addresses both, and more! May God bless their good work!
I've worked as a volunteer and major donor of the foundation over the past 8 years personally delivering over 2500 wheelchairs around the globe in 7 different countries. They handle 100% of the logistics and make it a seamless process from fundraising to delivery. The staff is professional and trustworthy and their endowment allows 100% of your donation to go 100% to the purchase and delivery of wheelchairs, dollar for dollar. They've made it possible for me and countless others to deliver the gift of mobility and freedom to individuals and families around the world. Their success is evident in their partnerships as they have delivered over 1m wheelchairs to date in the last 15 years. I highly recommend working with this non profit for international relief and aid projects.
