Programs: The Whatcom Humane Society has been providing care and comfort to homeless, unwanted and abused animals since 1902. As an open admission shelter, we turn no animal away regardless of the animal’s age, breed, temperament, physical or medical condition or the space we have available. With two shelter facilities in Bellingham and our 10 acre farm in Everson, we care for over 4,500 animals each year. Our core programs include veterinary care, an interactive adoption program, spay/neuter services, community outreach and humane education, foster care programs and volunteer services. We also provide 24 hour animal control & rescue services in Whatcom County. For our low-income residents in need we offer low cost vaccination and microchip clinics, a pet food bank and a Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP).
