Mission: Waha is a nonprofit organization based in bellingham, washington whose mission is to connect people to health care and facilitate transformation of the current system into one that improves health, reduces cost and improves the experience of care.
Programs: Connector services- waha serves as the lead in-person assister organization for a five-county region (whatcom, skagit, island, san juan and snohomish). In this role we oversee implementation of the washington health benefits exchange and, with our partner organizations, help people search for, compare and enroll in health plans offered on washingtonhealthplanfinder. 5,930 individuals were served in reporting tax year.
intensive case management- in collaboration with many other organizations, waha provides intensive case management services to the most medically and behaviorally complex cohort of high utilizing patients who need help coordinating their care. Waha also contracts with the health home program, a state-run two year case management pilot program for eligible medicare beneficiaries. 59 individuals were served in reporting tax year.
