Programs: The foundation made 3 trips to japan in our continuing efforts to stop japansinhumane and needless whaling and dolphin hunting practices. We participated inmeetings in tokyo, wakayama prefecture, and okinawa with prominent japanesebusiness and political leaders. H the foundation participated in several meetings in washington dc with members ofthe us delegation to the international whaling commission (iwc) and presidentobamas council on environmental quality (ceq) in our ongoing efforts to stop thekilling of cetaceans by japan, norway, iceland, and the faroe islands. H the foundation continued its participation with ed lyman of the hawaiian islandshumpback whale national marine sanctuary researching the health assessment ofnorth pacific humpback whales. H the foundation sponsored and participated in filming expeditions to hawaii, thesilver bank, san ignacio lagoon, the channel islands and the bahamas to gatherhi-def stock footage of humpback whales, gray whales, blue whales, fin whales,common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, spotted dolphins, turtles, sharks, rays, andother marine life for use in its films, campaigns, and psas. H the foundation continued leading its eco-tours to san ignacio lagoon, the silverbank, and the bahamas. H the foundation participated and was honored at the environmental media (ema)awards where our international spokesperson hayden panettiere won top honors forher work with us over the past 9 years. Org alongwith its facebook, twitter, and youtube pages, all of which are available to anyoneworldwide with computer, tablet, or smartphone access. H the foundation donated images and video footage to the the sea shepherdsociety, ifaw, nrdc, ocean alliance, and other environmental groups for use intheir public education campaigns reaching millions worldwide.
