Programs: 340 wou students received scholarships, student aid and student loans for the continuation of their education and advancement toward the completion of their degrees. The schonwald scholarship endowment was created with a generous trust gift from mr. Eugene berke. This endowment will provide more than $7,000 in scholarships annually to current or prospective full-time wou undergraduate students, whose major emphasis of study is math, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, computer science or engineering and thermodynamics, with a goal of obtaining a bachelor's degree in one of the above disciplines.

the foundation is committed to support the needs of the university as established in forward together, the university's new strategic plan as of january 2017, and will stay actively involved with the university's master facilities plan process to support future efforts to create a robust campus community that is the best for learning. The goals and objectives of the foundation are to engage a renewed volunteer and alumni base to participate in mentor, fundraising and other activities to support the student experience. Specifically, in fiscal year 2017 a new alumni mentor program was launched, which linked current students and alums in their field. Moving forward the wou foundation will continue efforts to raise funds for six established core priorities - student scholarships & aid, programs that support student success, high-impact academic/learning practices, competitive athletics, state-of-the-art facilities, and unrestricted funds to be used for the greatest need.

the foundation sponsors university programs and activities that assist students in the pursuit of cultural, scientific, educational, and athletic programs to sustain their exposure and options of learning. Wou giving day launch - a robust outreach campaign across platforms, students, parents, faculty and staff, and alumni came together to raise funds during the one-day event. Donations support all areas of campus. This successful event will become an annual fundraiser in support of the foundation annual giving campaign, which has a goal of $125,000. The annual fund provides resources for various activities across campus including our competitive grants program that supports student programs. Inaugural wolves on the green - this event included more than 120 golfers who came together to support the five women's athletic programs at wou. The event's first year raised more than $8,000 and has become an annual event in support of women's athletics including scholarships and other program needs.
