Mission: The western montana electric generating and transmission cooperative, inc. (the cooperative) was formed to assist its members in obtaining low-cost, adequate supplies of electric energy for resale to rural consumers in western montana. It promotes the interest of its members in the planning, programs, and practices of the pacific northwest power planning council and the bonneville power administration to retain the benefits of low cost hydroelectric generation in the pacific northwest, while adding the most cost effective non-hydro resources to meet growing demands. The cooperative is alert to other opportunities to develop generating resources or add transmission facilities to benefit the member distribution cooperatives. It also assists its members by providing pertinent information that allows them to participate more fully in power supply planning and acquisition activities.
Programs: Providing power planning and representation for its six members: five rural cooperatives and one tribal utility in montana.
