I first became involved with WFCM while being a high school teacher at Chantilly High School in their Leadership program. We would sponsor families for the holidays and have food drives for them. I brought my classes over to their warehouse for a field trip so the students could truly see what WFCM was all about.
When I retired from teaching, I needed something to fill some time in my daily schedule. Volunteering at WFCM has been the best opportunity I could have picked. The people who I work with, and the other volunteers make the 3 hours fly by. Meeting the clients and their children who come into shop is the best part for sure. They leave with a sense of gratefulness and are so appreciative of our help and smiles.
I look forward to seeing them again monthly!
The fresh food and store donated food they receive is always well received by the clients.
I have volunteered there for almost a year now. Everyone works very hard to receive, check, and distribute food for the hundreds of families we serve.
High impact work that makes effective use of my volunteer time. I have had nothing but good experiences with this organization and would recommend for others looking for a volunteer opportunity.
I volunteer with WFCM, bagging groceries for clients. It's great to interact with shoppers as they choose free, nutritional food for their families. It's a wonderful organization that is making a big impact in Western Fairfax County.

I would highly recommend WFCM to any who is homeless or down and out and don't know who to ask for help.
I have volunteered here for more than 3 years and proud to be here. We have met the increasing needs of our clients and are efficient with our funds. Our clients enjoy selecting their own produce and foods! Plus we have a wonderful group of staff who are so kind and caring.
As a board member of WFCM, I am incredibly proud of the work this organization is doing to serve our community. Our free food market is more than just a place to pick up groceries—it's a lifeline for so many families and individuals facing food insecurity. The market offers a wide selection of nutritious options, ensuring that those in need have access to fresh produce and other essentials without cost.
What sets WFCM apart is not only the tangible help it provides but also the compassionate and respectful way in which it is delivered. Our team, volunteers, and supporters are committed to treating everyone who comes through our doors with dignity, ensuring that no one feels marginalized or left behind.
It's inspiring to witness firsthand the impact WFCM has on the lives of so many, and I am honored to be part of such a meaningful effort. Together, we are making a real difference in building a stronger, healthier community.
WFCM is an amazing organization that I am honored to partner with as a Donor. Consistently enhancing the experience for the families they help. Always looking for ways to be more efficient with resources while garnering new opportunities for those they serve! Thank you for all you do to improve the lives of others!
For over a decade, I have served as a volunteer at Western Fairfax Christian Ministry. Each week I have the pleasure of working with a devoted, caring team of staff and volunteers, united by a dedicated commitment to serve families within our local community. The families are always treated with complete respect; the work by volunteers is always genuinely appreciated.
I feel fortunate to be associated with WFCM.
I volunteer at WFCM's food pantry in Chantilly where the volunteers and staff could not be a nicer group of people. Everyone works together, but I never feel pressure to work when I can't or do something I'm not capable of doing. The full-time staff thanks the volunteers EVERY single time we come in and leave. They are helping so many people all the time, yet they are very caring to those many of us to help make light work of a complex situation. I'm impressed most that they truly care too about the people who come to the pantry in such dire times. They respect each person and recognized how hard it is, at times, to ask for something so basic as food to feed your children. Really the best volunteer experience I have ever had.
I have worked with WFCM for 25+ years. I am the Church Champ for my church and have been a board member. I am also a personal donor.
I love the way that WFCM works with clients and treats them with the dignity and respect that they deserve. 50+ years ago when I needed help from a group like WFCM I got the food I needed to feed myself and my child, but I did not get the support for other areas of my life like WFCM clients get today.
I recommend WFCM as a great way to support those in our community that need help and will continue to support them as long as I am able.
WFCM goes out of its way to accommodate all clients. Those with mobility limitations are helped to shop. Those who can't eat certain products due to health or religious practices are helped to find good alternatives. We are lucky to have excellent partners that keep us stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy. The staff is multilingual, talented, and dedicated. Highly recommend for those in our community experiencing food insecurity.
I have supported Western Fairfax Christian Ministries over the years and was particularly impressed when they scaled up during the Covid pandemic - not an easy task for any organization and they did it well. They are innovative and responsive to the needs of this region, partnering and collaborating with others in the community to provide the best services. Their Free Food Fridge program along with their Client Choice Food Pantries are mindful of the need to respect individuals' and families' choices and extend grace to their clients in need. WFCM is a shining example of the best in community service and engagement.
I am proud and pleased that my church was one of the several churches that came together to found Western Fairfax Christian Ministries and we have been happy to continue supporting WFCM through the years. I have also had the privilege of volunteering there regularly for several years and it is always a blessing to work with the wonderful staff and clients and other volunteers. I love being able to donate to and support such a great organization which helps so many people in our area, including many of my own neighbors.
I have donated to WFCM for many years and am continually amazed at all the work they do in the community. Their staff (both volunteer and paid) care deeply for our neighbors, showing dignity and empathy for everyone seeking assistance. I also appreciate their work to help people inch forward toward sustainability.
