Mission: The west side catholic center provides food, clothing, shelter and advocacy to all who come to us in need. Through various programs, we serve the homeless and indigent in cleveland, ohio.
Programs: Moriah house - family shelter -the moriah provides immediate, temporary solutions to those who find themselves homeless due to domestic violence, poverty and other circumstances beyond their control. In a safe and welcoming environment, families begin to address the issues surrounding the circumstances that led to their homelessness and are assisted with finding more permanent housing solutions. In 2017, 11,751 nights of lodging and 34,914 meals were provided to families along with transitional services to provide more long-term solutions.
resource center--the resource center addresses the immediate needs of the marginalized and homeless population in the cleveland area by providing services such as meals, clothing, phone, showers, mailboxes and first-line medical attention for health issues resulting from exposure. In 2017, 67,578 meals and 11,988 instances of street survival and outreach advocacy services were provided to individuals and families in need. Outreach advocacy programs are highly personalized services that address the core issues that underlie a persons poverty and encourages them to become more independent.
zacchaeus housing solutions -- zhs helps families secure and maintain housing by providing rent subsidy and case management services for up to twelve months. Zacchaeus ultimate goals are to end family homelessness and to strengthened family unity through housing stability, increased life skills, and job placement. In 2017, 104 families consisting of 116 adults and 283 children were successfully placed in permanent housing.
