The comrade of brother & Sister veterans who come together and take time getting to know the veteran and families is beyond awesome. The board of directors and volunteers are a great group, who support the struggles from the wounds of war. A lot of appreciation for this great organization who touch so many lives in our community. A regular donor and supporter of this organization. Always helping the Grand Rapids Home For Veterans. Thank you for all you do!
When my husbands home was flooded in May 2020 when the dams in Sanford failed, the WMVR contacted us about how they could help. A group of veteran volunteers came out and helped us to install ceilings and walls when its over 100 degrees witheat index. Dean was an amazing leader and proved that veterans never really stop serving. Thank you WMVR for you help.
If it wasn't for the helping hand of the WMVR we would be without a house right now. We fell behind on our mortgage due to some med bills, and they came through for us with assistance. They are like family now, as they are veterans like myself and are truly doing great things!! Everyone especially veterans should know and hear about them!!!
In September of 2018 my life changed forever, when my veteran husband took his life. WMVR stepped in and helped with the funeral, money, dealing with the VA. They also helped with a huge remodel that we had started. Plus from day 1 until present time have been a continuous source of comfort, support, advice, companionship and love. Without WMVR I’m not sure where I would be today!! They are a true charity that does the work they say they are going to do for our veterans and their families!!
The Veterans and family members who volunteer for WMVR are the most genuine
war fighters I have ever come across. These patriots continue to fight for
the veterans who struggle with transition back into society. From gas
cards, housing repairs, handicap access support, job opportunities and much
more. This organization goes above and beyond helping those in need of
support and assistance. Reaching out into our society working with local,
State and National programs to assist veterans in need. Trying to help
fight the stigma of PTSD, and the 22 a day who choose to shorted their
purpose in life.
