I've heard these guys have provided fresh water for over 250,000 people in Niger! Unbelievable! They have shipped a drill over to Africa! Pat has been working from the states to raise money and send it over to Niger for the work to be done by locals!!! We love Wells 4 Wellness! They are a nonprofit that gives directly back to the people in Africa and their impact is immediately recognized by those they serve. Having family members who are doctors in global health and make numerous visits to this continent, we have seen first-hand the dire need for clean water. Without clean and accessible water, diseases run rampant and cause a number of other economic and health issues. Wells 4 Wellness tackles the root cause of many of these situations by providing wells and clean running water. We love how our donations make an impact and that we see the benefits by the people in Africa! Thank you Wells 4 Wellness!

It was the weekend after Thanksgiving, 2011. Our church announced they would be showing a documentary called “58” based off the premise and verses of Isaiah 58. The documentary highlighted the adverse effects of extreme poverty and what we western Christians are doing about it (or moreover, what we are NOT doing about it). My heart was convicted beyond anything I had ever experienced. I stayed up the majority of the night crying and asking God to teach me, show me and use me. I had never felt such pain, compassion and conviction. I was so upset that other people’s lives were enslaved due to an amount that I could (if I had to) come up with in 5 minutes from family and friends alike.

And so that night, I really felt like God did teach me and show me and wanted to use me. When I shared with my husband the following day what the Lord placed on my heart, he encouraged me to take it a step further. Was I willing to work (“get a job”) to give? At the time I was a full-time stay-at-home mom, but both of our children were in school during the day. Within weeks, I began nannying for a family that offered me the exact hours and days that I needed to be able to not only give the amount the Lord had placed on my heart, but also still be a caring wife to my husband and a caring mom to my kids. God is good.

I knew I wanted to give to an organization that was bringing life and hope to people in extreme poverty. A few months later, Wells4Wellness was birthed and I knew I could trust the non-profit because it was being run by none other than my own mother-in-law. I don’t feel like I’m doing some amazing thing, I’m only doing what I would hope someone would do for me if I was in a tough situation. As Christians we only have two “commandments” stated by Jesus himself in Matthew 22:37-40: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

God showed me that loving my neighbor, even if they are 5,000 miles away in another country, is doing this right now. I hope and pray He shows you what YOU can be doing to “love your neighbors.”

We have personally known Pat and Bob Herath for the past 2 years. We gathered with them and their family to watch their video they had made about one of their trips to Africa. My husband and I were overwhelmed watching the video of all that takes place to bring people together to accomplish the work that it takes to provide water from one Well to Niger. We were amazed how they plan, work and research to accomplish this task. We understand that hundreds of Wells are now in place in Niger to bring clean drinking water to the men, women and children of Niger. Pat and Bob's love, compassion, devotion and commitment to the Non-Profit, "Wells 4 Wellness" is clearly driven out of their hearts desire to see to the needs of others. To whom it may concern,

I knew of Pat & Bob Herath long before I got to meet them. Their love and compassion
for humanity was told about in conversations at many different places. When the idea of starting a ministry digging wells for clean water for Niger, Africa, I thought it had to be the biggest undertaking I ever had come in contact with. I know it's been a miracle to see so many wells put in. These wells provide fresh clean water for the population of Niger. Sickness and disease that effect mostly children, are quickly changed to healthy happy children with normal size stomachs, instead of bloated ones. I know and trust Pat with the finances. There is no waste of money as each transaction is accounted for by the board. It is an honor to know Pat Herath and to support Wells4Wellness.

I have worked with Wells 4 Wellness Inc. for the past several years, and I have been consistently impressed with their dedication to providing safe, clean drinking water to people in need in Niger. Wells 4 Wellness is one of the only agencies willing to assist remote villages in Niger and install wells in difficult conditions. Their work has a transformational and lasting effect, providing fresh, clean water for drinking, growing home gardens or farming, caring for livestock, creating bricks for building, and more. In addition, the wells that Wells 4 Wellness provides helps women and children spend less time collecting water, allowing them to devote time to other tasks including school. The installation of a well changes the entire village for the better, providing hope and helping people thrive. Wells 4 Wellness has improved the quality of life of thousands of people.

I'm happy to support Wells4Wellness. It seemed the perfect way to give back to God, to create a memorial for my loved one, to save lives with dependable water, and to support Pat and Bob's ministry. Wells4wellness ensures their wells keep giving life by assigning a local pastor close to the well to manage them, to ensure the wells keep operating. The wells are dug by locals for their people. The wells are placed for maximum benefit. The recipients are grateful for the water, and the Gospel is shared with those who use the well. The organization has minimal administrative staff, meaning more funds go to the objective of more wells. All these are factors I love about Wells4Wellness. Please join us in making water available for God's people. BTJT

My name is Tiffani Smith and I am a teacher with Colona School. Pat came and spoke a few years ago to my son's 6th grade class. My son does not think school is very exciting and rarely shares things that happen there. Well, that day he came home and told me about a lady that came and talked about people needing water in Niger. I was impressed that someone made an impression on him like that!
So, being the teacher that I am and being interested in helping people and the importance of clean water, I contacted his teacher. I then got the contact information and name of this wonderful person and organization. Pat and I chatted and she agreed to come to my class.
She did a FABULOUS job and she has come to my class every year since- even through google meets during COVID! Thankfully we each had people to help us with the technology part of it! My students LOVE it and so do I! We have raised money each year and donated to this worthy cause. It has now become part of my curriculum.
Having Pat be the face and voice of Wells 4 Wellness is so powerful. She believes in it 100% and the work she has accomplished is amazing! She has a gift for talking to kids and getting them to see the importance of what she does and how caring she is.
This summer I was teaching summer school and had some former students. One of the girls started talking about Niger and their need for water. I was shocked that she remembered this information and that she was able to recall it. She was so touched by what Pat showed her and the things we talked about that she talked about wanting to help there when she was older!
Wow! What an impact! I cannot say enough good things about Pat, Wells 4 Wellness, and all the great things they are doing and teaching our young people.
Keep up the great work, Pat (and the rest of the group!)

I’m so excited to be able to write this review for Wells4wellness because I am so impressed with the organization and the leaders. I’ve known the founders Pat and Bob Herath for more than 30 years. I’ve been watching this ministry develop and grow, to what it is now, from the very beginning. I have talked to Pat Herath on many occasions and felt her passion and her commitment to the call that God has put on her life to bring water to people who have not known such a basic commodity. My wife and I have personally sown into this ministry. We have been so amazed how God has blessed us by partnering with this ministry. If I’ve ever known it to be true that “you can’t out give God” it certainly has been manifested through our partnership with Wells4wellness. I have been amazed with the leaderships patience and perseverance as they train and teach the nationals on how to carry-on the work of putting in wells in this dry and barren land of Niger. Thank you Pat and the other leaders for your obedience to God’s call in reaching this nation with water and the love of God.

Before Well for Wellness, people had to walk for miles to get water and then had to carry it back on their shoulders. This much needed ministry is still providing the equipment needed for even more wells today. I encourage you to get involved and donate to this much needed cause in helping those who need our help in Africa.

Wells for wellness is doing so much good for the people of Niger. First-class run with first-class people. I've known Pat Herath, the founder of this organization for over 20 years. She is hard-working, energetic, caring and dependable. I've participated in many of her local fundraisers and am amazed at the work they do. For instance, one village that received a well from Wells for Wellness - Pat displayed photos of the countryside of the town before and after they received the well. The before picture, showed the brown desert with no vegetation. The after picture showed how the well had revived the land from brown to vibrant greens - amazing! It feels so great giving to this organization, because it's making a real difference in the lives of the people of Niger!

I am a driller for Wells4Wellness, here is what the Lord is doing:
"Let me start with the very good news of the older wells.
We thank the Lord that all the Wells are functioning well, serving the communities especially during this very hot season when there is high scarcity of water.
I get regular reports of appreciation from different villages on how God has made these wells a big source of blessings to their villages.
We also put in place a system that will make the Wells self sustaining and also be a blessing to the church. This has been very effective. With the little token collection from the sale of water, we've been able repair any damage of any kind, also serve as a source of employment to the Church member that is overseeing the Well in each village, both the local Pastor and the Local Church in the village benefit with a token from the collection every month. Hence, the Well has brought multiple blessings to both the communities and the Churches."

In the months of February through June, the city well went dry. Wells 4 wellness had just drilled five wells outside the city. Thousands of people got relieved of acute water shortage they had experienced in Maradi. While they were in line waiting to fill their buckets from our new wells , their pastors in the area took the time to talk and bring up conversations while they waited. The people were very grateful that they would tell their needs and many were prayed for. Some are now attending a couple of the churches nearby.

Wells4Wellness is an easy choice for me to support as a volunteer and strategic planner. Living in the parched desert of Tucson, Arizona, I deeply appreciate the critical importance of water to life. Wells4Wellness amazingly not only meets the physical needs of Niger residents for water, but also looks to make “living water” available to everyone it encounters. Speaking to a Samaritan woman who was drawing water from a well, Jesus said, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” John 4:13–14). Jesus helped the woman at the well to realize she needed not only physical water but also the “living water” he provides to those who put their faith in him. As Wells4Wellness meets the basic physical needs of people for water, those people become more open and available to hear about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. With little overhead and a small but mighty team ably led by Pat Herath, Wells4Wellness faithfully and effectively obeys Jesus’ commands to “love your neighbors as yourself” (Great Commandment) and to “make disciples of all nations” (Great Commission). Every contribution to Wells4Wellness is used wisely and “well.”

This organization is meeting an incredible need in Niger, Africa. Pat Herath saw a need and decided to do something about providing at least 33 wells in 33 villages throughout the country that had absolutely no clean water.

Last check they had drilled over 20 wells and were in the process of achieving their goal by 2020.

This country does not show up on most people’s radar and, as such, most people neglect them. They are about the poorest country in the world and Pat is helping with the least of the least.

This is heroic stuff and Pat and her team are to be commended for raising the hundreds of thousands of dollars required to get this job done.

They have done everything from bake sales to special events to church presentations, and everything in between…whatever it takes to get the job done.

All the while they have operated with the utmost of integrity, honor, and decency, and are an incredible reflection on the nonprofit community.

A CALLING TO SAVE LIVES AND SOULS THROUGH WATER
We were called to support Wells4Wellness because we wanted to feel our charity made the greatest possible impact. We had a “box” of charity and it became a much disorganized “box” over the years. Here is what has been in our “box”:
 Giant charities with very emotional appeal developed through huge ad campaigns.
 The most recent disaster.
 Charities that would put us on their board or a committee.
 Charities that a friend asked us to support.
 Education, because we all want education.
 Our church.
 A charity that would give us a form of huge recognition.
But three were always two questions we needed to answer, but never asked:
1. What will the impact to another human being be from my donation?
2. How efficient is my money being used? We never asked for financial information.
Wells4Wellness answered the two questions above like this:
1) Donations will provide water to the poorest of the poor. LIVES WILL BE SAVED. And at the very same time souls will be saved because the wells are drilled in the name of Christ. The people often do accept Christ as they now can live to hear the message. Our drilling operations are conducted by Via Abondante, a Christian ministry that has been in Niger for 30 years.
2) Wells4Wellnees is clear in their financial reporting and are open to any questions about their mission.
Don was called to serve Wells4Wellness because we actually knew and deeply trust Pat Herath for over 20 years. Pat founded Wells4Wellness 10 years ago. Wells4Wellness saves lives and we are proud to help them in their mission.Picture is the water tower for pressure where our family provide a well for a hospitality center.

Wells4wellness is working very hard to bring wells of water that are safe to drink for the people of Niger, and by doing that spectacular and caring work the children will have more time and opportunity to go to school. I know Pat Herath for a long time now. She is moved with compassion and love to help others. Pamella Perufo

Wells4wellness has been working non-stopping to get water to the thirsty people in Africa.
I have been following their work, and it is amazing, the way they love this people. This team does not see difficulties, they just see the goal that is to reach as much people as possible building wells in Niger. Their love and compassion carries wells4wellness where nobody goes.
I have known Pat Herath, the director, from more than 15 years, and this is what she does; she gives all that she has to help others with lov'e, dedication and hard work.
Let's help them help people!!

Wells 4 Wellness is a wonderful organization I am proud to support. Pat Herath is an inspiration! Her vision to bring clean water to the people of Niger seemed crazy and impossible. But Pat’s heart of compassion and faith in what seems impossible has been behind Wells 4 Wellness’ success in helping thousand of families have access to clean, healthy water.

Through our monthly donations, my family has provided a well to the village of Tabangou. It’s amazing to know that our gift has made it possible that the women of the village will no longer have to walk for miles to get contaminated water. Instead, they can go to the nearby well and provide clean water for their children and husbands. This one well will impact hundreds of families. It’s a joy for my husband and I to give and to teach our kids what an impact giving can have. Thank you Pat and Wells 4 Wellness for the opprotunity to help change lives!

Wells 4 Wells is “pure religion’ in action. Thank you very much to the servants in Wells 4 Wellness and to Pat Herath The Executive Director. With Pats vision life is good because the water is making things so much better. Standing on the ground of Niamey well sites in the outback of Niger, Africa. You ask yourself how do they live here. Niger, Africa has a population of 22,640,880 as of Sunday, December 2nd 2018 ; Niger population is equivalent to 0.29% of the total world population. Wells 4 Wellness is right in the middle of the “end of the earth”. The trip I took last winter with Bob and Pat Hearth to Niger, Africa, in a word was “aw”, and every meaning of the word “aw”. The drilling team is made up of men who believe in Jesus Christ and believe in hitting water when they drill. The work is hard and hot but with great reward. The water from the wells is as clean as Moline, Il tap water. The testing device I used at many of the well sites we visited revealed this fact. To give Wells 4 Wellness is putting money in the ground not to save it but to invest it, and the increase is happening. Wells 4 Wellness is good work and really something to pray for.Barry Sprout

I am very happy to speak for Pat Herath and Wells 4 Wellness. It is amazing that she would be called to start an organization that provides Wells and clean drinking water to people half way around the world is truly amazing. Pat knew nearly nothing of what it takes to make a successful and usable well in a foreign very poor country. Many people have thoughts, dreams and ideas. But they stepped out and "Went for it" They literally dug this organization out of nothing with the favor, friends and partners who have joined them along the way. I am thankful that our church has been able to get involved and support this organization for several years. We know that the funds we give are being carefully managed and they are getting a good return on every dollar. Our funds were used to purchase a cab truck for the team to arrive at the drill sites. We have also purchased a well in the village of Farra.Pastor Tim Bowman

The Wells4Wellness mission is to provide water to one of the poorest countries in the world: Niger, Africa.

Wells are drilled by a team of trained natives with equipment provide by wells4wellness.

Pat Herath of Moline, IL leads the organization with a heart of compassion. Her dedication and sincerity have resulted the drilling of over 20 wells.

As Treasurer, I can attest to the hard work of all the volunteers and the generosity of many long time donors.

The vision and love for the people of Niger is always Pat's first priority. It is an honor to serve with her.

I first learned of Wells4Wellness while serving as Outreach Coordinator at our church. Their mission is simple, to provide fresh clean water to the people of Niger. It’s a laser focused mission that allows them to do this one thing with excellence. While 33 wells appears to be a measurable goal, the true impact of life giving water in a desert country, in the lives of thousands of people is beyond measure! Pat's understanding of Niger has strategically guided decisions regarding well placement for maximum community benefit ... with recent wells bored in a marketplace, hospital, several churches and a fishery! To God be the glory, may He continue showing this ministry great favor.

I am a monthly donor for Wells4Wellness and have been for over 7 years. I had wanted to sponsor a well for a long time, but donating to Wells4Wellness has been so much more, I just keep giving. I have not only helped put wells into some of the poorest remote villages in Niger Africa, but W4W is affiliated with local churches, hiring and training the local people to put sustainable wells in, giving them the resources to maintain and repair the wells, providing a whole new economy and community for the people in these small villages. I have witnessed how water changes whole villages, the children are able to go to school, families no longer share watering holes with their animals and can grow crops even in the dry seasons. The barren landscape now has trees to help shade them from the 100 plus degree temperatures. Moms can finally cook and clean to improve and help protect the lives of their children! W4W never ceases to amaze me with what they have done with my giving. They bring it all alive on the website with videos of the actual wells going in, with emailed newsletters, and even occasional heartfelt, handwritten thank yous with pictures of the kids from the different villages at the wells. You get to experience the highs and lows of what it takes to get water to some of these remote places! God is good! Thank you Wells 4 Wellness!

I have been blessed to know & work with Patty & her Wells4Wellness team for many years. I’m always amazed at Patty & her teams ability to drill a well in the most impossible places.
“Where there’s a will there’s a way”...or ....“Where there’s a “well” there HE will make a way......this is how I would describe the accomplishments of the Wells4Wellness team. I couldn’t be more proud to be a small part of this amazing group of people who work tirelessly to help bring clean water to remote villages across the world.

Wells4Wellness is a grass roots organization that has created a global effect! I have been apart since the beginning of this endeavor to bring clean water for the people of Niger. In just eight years we have 20 wells our own drill equipment purchased and shipped where the locals have been trained in the drilling. The greatest outcome is fresh clean water for thousands of people, healthier, stronger, more joy and a healing culture.

Weather it was South Korea, China, or even locally in the Quad Cities, I have always been ready to be by Pat’s side to help out with Wells4Wellness, far or near. Between the 5K, a walking team, and the amazing cooking team, I have had the pleasure of working by Pat’s side. Being one of the most inspiring people I have met, she has definitely taught me more about being selfless. I completed the 5K with great friends in Korea, whom I had met volunteering in Seoul. I came back to the US and was part of Pat’s walking team for two years. One of these years, I also got to complete some of my steps in Europe while I was getting my team steps in. I also got to be part of the cooking team at one of the fundraisers with my mom and some other friends, who were such fun to spend time with. This year, I got to create a team of my own, with all of Pat’s encouragement. I, then, was able to invite many of my friends to be part of my team. Friends in China, Finland, Germany, Korea, and the United States were all part of my amazing team. Going forward, I plan to have my own team to continue the journey to Niger. It would be my pleasure, as well, to join Pat in Niger one day, when I finally get all my steps in.

What an amazing organization. Wells4Wellness is meeting the most basic need of mankind. We all need water to live, and simply go to the faucet when we are thirsty, but how many do not have that luxury?
Pat Herath’s heart of compassion, mixed with her drive and determination to help the least of these has created this wonderful non-profit organization.
I know when we give our monthly donation that our seed is going to good ground. It is helping the widow, the orphan, and the family. It is literally bringing LIFE. Without clean water many of these people would die.
Thank you Pat for your vision and love for the people of Niger.

I've known Pat Herath, my entire life. Passion, determination and hard work are just some of the character traits, that she epitomizes. She saw a need for clean water in the country of Niger, Africa and didn't settle with it being "someone else's job; to bring clean water to them." She started the non-profit Wells4Wellness and has done very well. With numerous churches and business' in the community involved, to taking different groups of people over to Niger; she has truly been a trailblazer in the Water movement.

Wells has brought an awareness to the Illinois and Iowa community that was much needed. I truly believe people want to be apart of something bigger than themselves, and just don't know how. They need an action plan and Pat and her team, deliver just that.

I encourage all reading this, to attend the Wonders of Water Celebration this spring, that Wells4Wellness host.

It has been great joy working with Pat and the team over the past 6 years. In 2012 I turned 50 and celebrated my birthday by doing a fundraiser for wells4wellness. My life has been so richly blessed and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate. The joy of knowing people will have clean water every time a well is drilled is beyond explanation. I have never wanted for water let alone clean water but I’ve witnessed those who aren’t so fortunate doing nothing is not an option. I have seen people of all ages and backgrounds come together and do there part and miracles are happening. The dessert is blooming and generations are being changed. I praise God for this and I’m thankful to be part of such wonderful work.

I traveled with Pat Herath to Niger, Africa. We traveled to villages that needed a well. While we were in the bush the village women and children walked to the water hole. Pat and I walked with them, and were overwhelmed with the smell and the dirty water they had to drink. It is a blessing to know they are now drinking water from a well that was dug by Wells4 Wellness.

My wife, Pat, had a vision of helping some people in one of the poorest nations in the world get access to fresh clean water. I have watched her since 2009 go from discussion to decision. Pat has worked tirelessly for years now and she is actually the Executive Director of a successful organization called Wells4Wellness.

We have been married for 46 years, and she has picked me to be an adviser to this project. We both went to Niger, Africa in 2011 to see wells and visit with the people on our team who live there and attend to the drilling process. It is wonderful to see water supplied to schools and villages in remote areas of the sub-Sahara desert. Loving Husband Dr. Bob Picture I chose was with ther and I with wells 4wellness drilling team on site of a well in the village of Kowampanti.
