I was told about this nonprofit when a friend heard of it and thought of me. On 9/7/19 I was hit by a distracted driver while riding my bike, I nearly died and after was left with what felt like a new body. A broken new body. I couldn't do the things I had loved, surprisingly I had few scars but the ones I had were BIG. The team at We Are Not Broken made me feel beautiful, they took that "broken" body and showed me it was not broken that is was powerful and beautiful. Never would I have thought I would show my stomach scar and belly that was "chubby" but I love the photo so much I printed it! I left feeling like a weight had been lifted and I started to see scars on others but I saw them as beautiful. They are testaments to what our amazing bodies can support us through. Whenever I meet other women I show them the video, I have had men I know tell me they showed it to their teenage daughters who thought they were not beautiful. Nick and her team gave me strength to start speaking about my crash and now I help other crash survivors. The gift they gave me is loving myself and seeing beauty in the "flaws", it is priceless.

I have had the blessing to be able to work with this organization this summer as an intern and it has been such an incredible journey in just a few months. God put me right where I needed to be and showed me how to be humble and remind me where my priorities lie by placing me in a job that leads me and constantly shows me my own worth by doing the same for women everywhere!
