Programs: Bondeau, haiti: since 2013, wfsv has been working with the south florida haiti project inc. , a team with representatives from st. Andrews episcopal church, bethesda-by- the-sea episcopal church and st. Paul's episcopal church. The project purpose was to locate and develop a supply of safe and clean drinking water on the property. Wfsv used geotechnical and other tools to assess the water situation, test the water quality of nearby wells, evaluate the ability to supply power to a pump and associated equipment, oversaw the drilling of nine boreholes and two supply wells on the property and the installation of the solar system. Work is ongoing.
kabilash, nepal: wfsv worked independently to design and construct a surface water system to provide water to the village of kabilash, tibet. Coordinating with the village, wfsv designed a surface water system to carry water from the nearest spring and deliver it to a storage tank in the center of the village. The wfsv team refined the design after a site inspection, obtained the necessary supplies, constructed a springbox, trained the locals to trench and construct the pipeline, and planned for the construction of a water tank. Subsequently, phase 2 of the project was completed to expand the distribution pipeline to a lower area of the village and install water meters on these lines. The village is overseeing water use and payment for such.
aapchour, nuwakot district, nepal: this 2017 project was primarily funded by water for small villages but was worked on by other staff.
