Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Food, Food Programs, Human Services
Mission: At Waste Not, we’re creating sustainable food systems that help people and the planet flourish. We do this by eliminating food waste and hunger through innovative community partnerships.
Target demographics: Waste Not delivers food to over 60 diverse agencies that feed the hungry including schools, after-school programs, daycare centers, rehabilitation centers, transition homes, and senior facilities. Simultaneously, we divert this excess perishable food from going to the landfill and creating harmful methane gas.
Geographic areas served: The Greater Phoenix Metro Area
Programs: Our fleet of refrigerated trucks is on the road five days per week, collecting an average of 26,000 pounds of nutritious, perishable food per day from our food donors around the Valley. Our drivers deliver the fresh food the same day it is collected to over 60 diverse agencies. Waste Not also utilizes app technology to pair smaller food donations with a volunteer driver, who directly transports that food to a recipient agency.
