Causes: Job Training, Vocational Rehabilitation

Mission: To provide job development, job seeking skills and job placement for persons with disabilities. We are dedicated to providing outstanding quality services that result in successful community involvement and employment for persons with disabilities.

Programs: Wvs is organized to provide job seeking assistance for persons withdisabilities including: transportation training, work evaluation, jobassessment, job development, job coaching, retention services and deaf services. In 2014, 596 people were served with 122 persons placed into employment with an average wage of $10. 88, and 44 work site assessments were used to evaluate our clients. Wvs has expanded transition service into skagit county opening our first in house school program called "attic" (adult transition to independence center). The "attic" provides education to school age persons with disabilities, ages 18-22. Our wvs alaska team provided deaf services support to persons living in anchorage, wasilla, kotzebue, nome, fairbanks, south central and remote areas in the state.
