Mission: As the light opera company of Washington, the Washington Savoyards seeks to make opera theatre accessible and enjoyable to all in the Washington metropolitan area. Focusing on opera and theatre professionals resident in the metropolitan area, the Company provides employment, performance experience, training, and artistic support to its performers and crew members. In addition to drawing on professional singers, it also attracts music, theatre, and opera students from Washington area colleges and universities.
Programs: The Savoyards provides the Washington metropolitan area three annual full-stage, orchestrated professional productions of light opera, operetta, and musical theatre. Reduced price tickets are offered to adults over 65 and children under 15; the Savoyards participates in Stages for All Ages, providing for its spring main-stage productions a free ticket for each child under age 17 when accompanied by a paying adult.
