Mission: As a confederation of over 60 Scientific Societies and over 400 individual members, we facilitate cross-fertilization among the multifarious scientific disciplines
Programs: The Junior Academy of Sciences is our major operating program, encouraging young people in middle school through college undergraduates to participate in and understand science. Over 80 eminent scientists provide prestigious judging for Washington DC science fairs. We award a yearly Challenge Cup for the best science fair presentations -- one of the only non-athletic trophies the winning school can display in in its trophy case
